Cooler weather is suddenly upon us as we settle into the school year and I write to you with an update on our community’s COVID mitigation strategies.
Crossroads has made the decision to require COVID vaccinations for all employees and we are in compliance with that requirement. As required by law, Crossroads will consider accommodation requests based on religious or medical exemptions. As the state of New Hampshire is currently at “high” levels of COVID transmission, according to the CDC, we encourage all eligible community members to work with their primary care physician to become vaccinated, if they are not already.
In earlier correspondences, I had mentioned that we were considering surveillance screening. Models strongly suggest that screening offers significant assistance in slowing the spread of the delta variant. Like other schools in New Hampshire, Crossroads will be enrolling in the NH DHHS-sponsored Safer at Schools Screening program. We are evaluating vendors and will be sending the necessary forms and permissions soon. Participants can opt-in to the screening program and more information will be sent soon.
As Labor Day draws near, we hope you’ll keep in mind our collective commitment to the safety of our school community as you make plans to enjoy time with family and friends. Outdoor hikes, picnics, apple picking, and bonfires are a great ways to spend time together and enjoy the beauty of the Upper Valley while keeping COVID risks low.
Thank you for your patience and support!
