Lake County AllVax Portal is Now Open
Lake County, Ill. — The Lake County Health Department is pleased to announce that the Lake County AllVax Portal is open. All Lake County residents can now register to be notified when a COVID-19 vaccine is available to them. Registering online is easy and secure—just visit AllVax.lakecohealth.org. Looking for parents and caregivers of little ones, ages birth to 5 years old! We hope you and your child will consider joining our ongoing 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.
The idea is simple: Enjoy reading 1,000 books together and earn prizes along the way. The fact is, that children who are read to at home are better prepared for school and continue to do well throughout their academic career.

Mobile COVID-19 Testing Sites
The Lake County Health Department announced free COVID-19 testing is coming to Lake County. A mobile testing unit managed by the Illinois Department of Public Health will be stationed in the county according to the following schedule:

Who can be tested
Mobile testing sites are available to anyone to get tested, regardless of symptoms or other criteria. No appointment, doctor referral, or insurance is needed at state operated drive-thru sites and testing is available at no cost to the individual.
Know Before You Go
Testing is free and open to all regardless of symptoms. A phone number and name are required in order to receive testing results. Photo identification and proof of insurance are helpful, but not required. High demand for testing may result in long wait times. Testing locations may close early due to inclement weather or if daily testing supplies are exhausted.

Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center
COVID-19 testing is available by appointment for symptomatic Community Health Center patients. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. A telehealth screening must be completed to determine if testing criteria are met.

A state-operated Community-Based Testing Site opened in Waukegan on Thursday, June 4. Testing is free.

Molecular (viral) testing only, via nasal swab.

Know Before You Go
Walk-Ups
The Waukegan Community Based Testing Site (CBTS) is now accepting walk-ups. Walkers should enter off of Genesee Street and follow the line marked by orange cones.
Drive-Thru
If arriving by car, anyone who will be tested must be seated at a functioning window. Once you get in line at the CBTS, you will not be permitted to exit your car.
While this is a free service, you will be asked to show photo identification.
