Durham Region Workplace Class Order
This is a reminder that a class order has been issued by Dr. Robert Kyle, Medical Officer of Health for the Regional Municipality of Durham, for all workplaces in Durham Region where employees or the general public are present. This order specifies the actions and measures that employers must take to contain the spread of COVID-19 within workplaces. A fact sheet summarizing the order and the requirements is available.

Please ensure that you immediately notify the Durham Region Health Department of any COVID-19 cases identified in connection with your workplace by calling (905) 668 2020 or 1-800-841-2729. A Public Health Inspector will be in contact to discuss cleaning and disinfection and other infection prevention and control measures.

Please advise staff who test positive for COVID to self-isolate for 10 days from symptom onset or, if no symptoms at time of testing, from the date they were tested. Positive cases should also advise their household and high-risk contacts to go for testing and isolate for 14 days according to the instructions on The Factsheet: COVID-19 Close Contact.  Additional information regarding what individuals should do while awaiting test results can be found on the Factsheet: Instructions for Individuals Tested for COVID-19
