Gustavo Berenblum, Architect - Berenblum Bush Architects
Mr. Berenblum, AIA, LEED AP is a Principal and co-founder of Berenblum Busch Architects, (BBA). He is an award-winning architect and lecturer, recognized worldwide as a leading Port, Cruise Terminal and Destination designer. He has extensive experience in complex projects, having completed planning and architecture state-of-the-arts work in the US, Canada, Europe, Central America, Japan and China. A graduate from Columbia University, he is adept to placing technology, function, sustainability and the betterment of the human experience at the center of his work. Aside from his firm, he serves as vice-chair of Florida International University’s CARTA Dean Council and has been a member of Columbia University’s GSAPP Alumni Board and of March of Dimes for South Florida.

Specialties: Waterfront and Destination Planning, Port Planning, Cruise Terminal Design, Education and Hospitality Projects, and Residential Architecture.
Jessica Chen, Construction - SUFFOLK
With 26 years in the industry, Jessica Chen serves as Project Executive for Suffolk. In this role, she provides strong leadership and direction to project teams in South Florida. Jessica is responsible for ensuring complete transparency and collaboration are implemented throughout the life of the project. With professionalism and passion, Jessica serves as a direct point of contact, ensuring safety, quality, and cost expectations are exceeded.
 
Jessica is currently overseeing an expansion to Plumosa School of the Arts for the School District of Palm Beach County. Her past experience includes other educational projects such as the original construction of Plumosa School of the Arts, Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus Classroom Building, and Florida Atlantic University’s Office Depot Center for Executive Education. In addition to her experience in educational facilities, Jessica has built projects in nearly every industry sector including multi-family residential, affordable housing, hospitality, and science + tech. One of her most notable projects to date is the impressive Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Expansion.
 
Jessica is active within the industry and community. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Construction Association of South Florida and is an active member of Associated Builders and Contractors. She often serves as a mentor to new employees joining Suffolk, as well. Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from Florida International University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She is fluent in Spanish and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Nate Hammond, MEP Engineer - Hammond & Associates
Has over 14 years of business operation experience and received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Florida State University. Nate has business development and operations responsibilities for both the South Florida and Atlanta offices. He has led global business teams for Fortune 500 firms such as Honeywell, Eaton, Newell Rubbermaid, and Siemens. Nate specializes in business development, client relations, marketing, project management and process improvement.
Kelly Shoaf, Hospitality - The Westley Group
Kelly is a seasoned hospitality professional. With over 13 years of experience, she has an extensive background in asset management working for a publicly traded, focus serviced hotel REIT where she was on the leadership team of the architecture and design department. She has managed annual budgets of over 100MM dollars of capital development projects at 180 plus hotel assets across the United States. Kelly managed a team of engineers addressing the needs for everything from high-rise historic buildings and Gen 1 properties ensuring major mechanical systems were maintained and replaced, regular capital improvement projects were executed and most imperatively, that major hotel systems remained operational on a daily basis.

In 2018 Kelly took her skills from construction to city commission and was elected City Commissioner in the City of West Palm Beach. She currently sits as the Commission President and as one of five City Commissioners representing the over 110,000 residents as District 1 Commissioner in the city’s Northend.
Robert Curto, Architect - Stephen Boruff Architects + Planners
Robert is a Senior Associate at Stephen Boruff AIA Architects + Planners, Inc. and serves as Senior Project Manager on a wide variety of projects. Having been raised in Florida since the age of 3, and the son of a General Contractor, Robert has been on Florida construction sites for most of his life, fostering a strong appreciation for the practice of turning architecture into reality. Music and Art shaped Roberts formative years leading him to study Architecture at the University of Florida. 

Over the past 30 years, Robert’s design philosophy has been shaped through direct involvement in a broad range of projects, and informed by a respect for the environment and community.  Robert is involved in all aspects of design at Stephen Boruff AIA Architects + Planners, Inc., from concept development and schematic design, to the production and quality control of the construction documents. In addition, he serves as a contact for the Owner’ Representative as well as performing construction administration duties for the duration of the projects. Since 1990, Robert has been involved in the programming, space planning, design and development of construction documents for all types of facilities ranging from commercial spaces and civic projects, to healthcare projects, recreation facilities and community centers. He serves as designer or contributing designer on many of the office’s projects.
Brittney Ferren, Interior Design - PGAL
Brittney Ferren is a highly qualified and accomplished Interior Designer for PGAL. She offers experience in interior programming, space planning, conceptual design, and construction documentation to deliver a memorable and cohesive design solution for the end user. Brittney develops a project program and facilitates an efficient project plan bringing the client’s vision to life. While making design decisions, she evaluates each solution with regard to maintenance, life cycle, sustainability, budget, comfort and aesthetics and considers the traveler and consumer experience and its relation to the client investment. Brittney’s consistent attention to detail is applied to every phase of the design process with an emphasis on the production of clear and concise construction documents.
 
Over the years, she has been actively involved in sustainability committees, leading training and panel discussions on how to integrate sustainable design into day to day practices and project approaches. Additionally, she has participated in various volunteer activities with IIDA's DRESSED, Habitat for Humanity, FOCUS and Fragile Kids Foundation, Atlanta Food Bank, CanStruction, AIA’s Youth Day and Discover Architecture as well as Coverings’ Tiny House Showcase as she finds great joy in serving the community. Several of her project's designs have been recognized by FEFPA, ASID, and IIDA, among others.
Jeffrey Collins, Development - Collins Development Company
Jeffrey J. Collins is the President and Founder of Collins Development Company. Jeff has led the development of a myriad of projects ranging from single building developments to professional parks, including corporate headquarters, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, infrastructure, residential and mixed-use properties.
 
Jeff’s hands-on style of client relations is embodied through his unyielding involvement in every project from feasibility studies, financial analysis, and site acquisition to government approvals, design, and construction. With over 30 years’ experience in the development and construction industry, Collins conveys his knowledge of local and national projects of all sizes.
 
Before founding Collins Development Company, Jeff worked for the Stiles Corporation as a senior project manager.
Stephen Asprinio, Hospitality - SA Hospitality Enterprises
Chef, Sommelier, Restaurateur, Entrepreneur, Winemaker—each of these titles represent the various milestones throughout Stephen Asprinio’s 24-year career in the hospitality industry. Stephen began his culinary training at the age of 14 and he earned two degrees: one from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, and the other from the Culinary Institute of America. He then went on to work with some of the top restaurateurs and chefs in the country, including Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto at Nobu in New York City, Drew Nieporent at Lucca in the Boca Resort & Club, and Chef Michael Mina at NobHill in the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino as Wine Director.
 
In 2007, Stephen launched SA Hospitality Enterprises. The firm specializes in restaurant concept development, operational infrastructure, project management, and strategic business planning for hospitality start-up ventures, in addition to post-opening executive oversight and reporting. Most recently Stephen headed up the creative and conceptual development, along with the subsequent launch of 1000 North—a 13,000 sq. ft., dining destination and private membership club. The project, located in Jupiter, FL is backed by Michael Jordan, Ernie Els and real estate developer Bjarne Borg amongst several others, and opened its doors to the public on February 1, 2018. Stephen is currently developing a 30,000 sq. ft., multifaceted, hospitality lifestyle venture on the Jupiter waterfront with Collins Development Co., which is slated for Q1 2021, and will include two restaurant concepts, a rooftop bar and a seafood market.
