To our patients -
We wish everyone well during these difficult times. Our focus is ensuring our patients have access to healthcare while also doing our part to flatten the curve of COVID19 transmission.
To adjust with this new challenge, we are moving patients to Telehealth.
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth/Telemedicine is an audio/video virtual appointment. In the past, insurance did not cover Telehealth. In response to the COVID19 pandemic,
Medicare
and most commercial insurance carriers are covering it for now.
After extensive research and at the suggestion of our EMR vendor, CareTracker, we selected the application DrFirst. We have been using DrFirst for a few days and it is working well. We would appreciate any feedback you might have about this experience.
How do I Use DrFirst?
When you schedule an appointment with our front desk, we will send you a text message to your phone with a link. Around the time of your appointment and when you receive the text, click the link and you will be connected to your provider by video.
Telehealth - The New Normal
In an attempt to decrease foot traffic in the office, we are trying to convert all of our existing appointments to a Telehealth visit. Our office will be contacting you to see if this change is possible for your upcoming appointment.
If you need to schedule an appointment, contact the office and we can set up your Telehealth appointment. For those of you who have a medical problem that requires a face-to-face visit, we will still be seeing a handful of patients in the office. We ask that you wash your hands when you come in and practice the current social distancing guidelines while in the waiting room. If you have any questions, please contact our office and we will discuss the different options for getting you taken care of - which is our number one priority.
For Medicare patients who need an Annual Wellness Visit (see below), we are trying to get most of these done within the next few weeks. Medicare strongly encourages all Medicare eligible patients to have this done annually. They would like for us to have these done in the first part of the year. This is timely because we currently have more empty slots in the schedule which can be filled with these appointments.
