January 2020
Thank You Central Oregon!

Thank you to all who contributed to the Central Oregon Gives Campaign in November and December of 2019. With the help of our many generous donors and supporters we were able to come in fourth place in the contest, raising a total of $92,398 for the campaign total.
Thank you again to all who contributed. Help us keep the positive momentum going by making a donation here!
Therapy Sheep Have Arrived!
We were excited to partner with Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office this month to adopt four therapy sheep from the Sheriff’s Rescue Ranch – Latte, Mocha, Cappuccino and “Bob”! So far they are adapting well to their new home and veteran volunteers. Thank you to Deputy Darren Sample and Mariya Leufven at the Rescue Ranch for helping facilitate the adoption and deliver our new friends.

Veteran Victory Gardens Coming This Spring
Do you know a veteran or veteran family who would enjoy or benefit from community garden space for FREE at COVR? Between our hoop house and pasture garden we will be offering 16 free community garden spaces to veterans and veteran families.
With Greenhouse Manager Orion Carriger now working Saturdays, we are designating this as Veteran Family Day at the Ranch. We’re looking forward to creating another way to contribute to healthy veteran families in Central Oregon.
For more information please email or call us: info@covranch.org or 541-706-9062
Oregon Department Of Agriculture Supports Hydroponics At COVR
Thanks to a 120K Oregon Department of Agriculture Specialty Crop Block Grant, COVR will be converting our existing Greenhouse to hydroponics. We are actively engaging veterans to learn hydroponics from the ground up by helping us build and operate this system in the coming months. Once the system is operational, COVR will become a hub of community education for veterans and the general public on the use of hydroponics to grow lettuce. If you know a veteran who would benefit or is interested in this subject, please refer them to us!
