Dear PGA WEST RES 1 Homeowners,
We hope this message finds you well. We want to bring to your attention an important matter regarding increased coyote activity in our community.
Over the past few weeks, there have been reports of several coyotes in various areas. As we value the safety and well-being of our residents, we feel it is essential to provide you with some important information and guidelines to ensure everyone remains vigilant and takes appropriate precautions.
Coyote Awareness Tips:
1. Supervise Pets: Pets must be on a leash while in common area. Do not leave pets unattended while outdoors even in a fenced area.
2. Secure Garbage: Coyotes are attracted to food sources. Avoid leaving food, including pet food, outdoors as it may attract other animals.
3. Avoid Feeding Wildlife: Feeding other wildlife can indirectly attract coyotes.
4. Be Vigilant: If you encounter a coyote, do not approach it. Keep a safe distance and make loud noises to deter them. In most cases, coyotes will avoid human contact.
5. Educate Children: Teach children about the presence of wildlife and the importance of not approaching or feeding any wild animals.
Reporting Coyote Sightings:
If you encounter a coyote displaying aggressive behavior or if you observe an injured coyote, please report it to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife at (760) 200-9158
Community Collaboration:
We encourage residents to stay informed and share information about coyote sightings within the community.
Your safety is a top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping maintain a safe and secure community. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the California Department of Fish and Wildlife at (760) 200-9158
