Students with Disabilities deserve equitable funding!
Our request was simple:
A 7% increase in funding to 853 schools and 4410 programs so that all public school students could be treated equally.
What we got was 4%.
In a year that saw more than $14 billion dollars in federal funding, an 11.3% overall increase and a 7.6% foundation aid increase to New York State public school districts, why should students with complex disabilities have to settle for 4%?
The answer is: They shouldn't.
Visit our Advocacy Page to urge your elected representatives to correct this disparity in funding. As always, please share this link with your staff, families, self-advocates and other supporters.
