CP State Training Series continues Wednesday
FREE series on community building for people with I/DD continues February 17
CP State continues Dr. Al Condeluci's series on community building on Wednesday, February 17,at 10 a.m. with "Understanding the Social Infrastructure."
This session will go over strategies and actions that can soften the social infrastructure, the places and spaces where people engage in community, in welcoming all people.
Sessions continue through March:
• Understanding the Social Infrastructure – Wednesday, February 17 @ 10 a.m.
• MACRO CHANGE: The key to Community Success– Wednesday, March 3 @ 2:30 p.m.
• Session 6 (TBA) – Tuesday, March 16 @ 10 a.m.
• Session 7 (TBA) – Thursday, March 18 @ 10 a.m.

Dating and relationships for people with I/DD
CP State is honored to host a series on navigating dating and relationships for people with disabilities. These FREE sessions will begin on February 23 and are presented by Kathy O'Connell, Director of Radiant Abilities. Radiant Abilities provides resources and products for people with disabilities in the areas of self-esteem, relationships, and personal empowerment.
CP State is offering these FREE sessions through its DDPC Rural Advocacy Grant.

OPWDD files proposed amendments to rate-setting, audit and reimbursement regs
OPWDD has recently filed a proposed regulation that will appear in the February 17 issue of the State Register, amending 14 NYCRR 641-1, 635-4.4 and 635-10.4, regarding rate setting, financial reporting/audit requirements, and reimbursement of waiver services. 
Vaccine safety webinar, February 17, 4 p.m.
The National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities will host a webinar on vaccine safety education on Wednesday, February 17, at 4 p.m. This webinar will highlight COVID-19 vaccine information and the importance for people with I/DD, their Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and their families.

Virtual Lobby Days begin Feb. 22
CP State and our colleagues (Alliance of Long Island Agencies/ALIA, Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York/DDAWNY, Interagency Council/IAC and the NY Association of Emerging and Multicultural Providers/NYAEMP) will be conducting our annual Legislative Advocacy Days virtually during the weeks of February 22 and March 1. 
Rally for Children, Feb. 17, 11-12:30
There will be a rally to invest in 4410 and 853 special education schools on Wednesday, February 17, from 11 to 12:30.

Brandeis hosting webinar on COVID-19 and I/DD on Feb. 22
A webinar by Brandeis University will be discussing the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of people with disabilities. On February 22 at noon join the Lurie Institute and the Community Living Policy Center for a webinar discussion between disability community members, self-advocates, and policy researchers. This conversation will elevate the policy and lived experience impacts of COVID-19 among people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Leaders and experts from the disability community will consider lessons learned, future federal policies, and ways that policies that promote Home and Community-based Services can provide more equitable social justice during this pandemic.
Developmental disabilities and sexuality training for staff
The DDPC and ElevatUs Training will be hosting FREE online sexuality trainings for school and agency staff. Attendees will receive comprehensive training to implement these trainings in their community and will be required to sign a commitment form.
