12 Back-to-School Resources to Support Student Mental Health


It's back-to-school time again, and many of our colleagues across Connecticut are helping their own children as well as those they work with transition to new routines, classrooms, and expectations. It can be an exciting but stressful time of year!


To help schools, providers, and families start the new school year on the right foot, CHDI compiled this list of 12 relevant resources for supporting student mental health, developed by CHDI and our colleagues from around the country!



NAMI Family

Support Group


NAMI Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for any adult with a loved one who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.

BRS Transition Counselors

and Benefits Specialists

This session will review the process to request Benefits Counseling Services, and what Benefits Counseling can provide to the individual. This session will also include a brief overview of youth transition services and pre-employment services provided via BRS, and how we partner with districts, families, and comparable benefit programs to ensure continued vocational support into adulthood.
