Worship with us every Sunday at 10 am.

All are welcome.

Dear CPC Congregation,

With all the Halloween hubbub, sometimes we forget what Halloween is the EVE of: All Saints Day! In the Protestant tradition, we consider all people who belong to Christ to be saints -- people set apart for God's purposes. Who are the saints you have known? Who are the people you witnessed who lived their lives with a sense of generosity and love, who now see God face to face? Take time this weekend to give thanks to God for them and for the ways their faithfulness made a difference in your life.

Throughout November, we will be focusing in worship about how we as LIVING saints invest our time, talent, and treasure in the ongoing work of God, so that we, too, can be a part of something that lives beyond us.

By now, you have picked up a stewardship letter or received it in the mail. Please prayerfully consider how God is calling you to share your gifts with the world through the work of the church. On November 23, you will have the opportunity to come forward to offer your Faith Promise pledge cards for 2026.

I also want to say that with the government shut-down and access to benefits rapidly changing, some of you may be facing financial challenges and are unable to make a pledge. That is understandable, and you are not alone! This church family wants to be supportive -- either by providing gift cards, meals, or spiritual accompaniment, or by helping to connect you with organizations that can help in other ways. If you find yourself needing support, please email me by clicking the button below. Your requests are always held in strict confidence.

Wherever you are, and wherever you go, Christ's peace to you!

Fall Sermon Series Continues through November 23

Time, Talents, and Treasure

God has given us precious gifts of time, talents, and treasure. In this season leading up to Thanksgiving and our Faith Promise Commitment Sunday, we will consider together how to enjoy and be faithful stewards of God’s gifts for the good of the whole human family.

November 2: “Gifted for Service” – 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

November 9: “Being the Body” – 1 Corinthians 12:12-31

November 16: “The Tyranny of Mine” - Luke 12:13-21; 32-34

November 23: “Determination and Love” - Leviticus 27:30-34; 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 - All are encouraged to present their faith promise commitment cards in worship

Know Others - Be Known

Throughout the upcoming weeks, Pastor Betsey will be getting to know all of YOU at a series of small "Belonging Gatherings" -- dinners or coffees in the homes of members. Each gathering will be limited to 7-8 people. Please choose a time you are available and plan to attend one! Find the paper list in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, or email Pastor Betsey at pastorbetsey@pfcpc.org, and she will add your name. Spots are first-come, first-served, and more gatherings will be taking place in early 2026!

Always Needed at 3rd Avenue Marketplace

There are some items that are "always needed" at our local foodbank. These items have been in scarce supply and are a staple of easy protein meals for our community. If you are able to donate these items at any time, they will be greatly appreciated by our community members in need. Thank you!

Peanut Butter - Tuna Fish (& other canned meats) - Chili - Beans

New Member Class - Adjusted Date

People are already signed up and excited about our upcoming New Member class! BUT - to make it work with participants' schedules, we have changed the date and hours of the class. The class will now be held in ONE SESSION on Monday, November 3 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. here at the church.

If this new time works for you, and you wish to participate in the class, please email Mark Sipe at news@pfcpc.org. New Members will be received in worship on November 9.

Ezra 3 Design Team Update

CPC's Ezra 3 team recently traveled to Washtucna Community Church for team-building, strategizing, and inspiration. CPC and four other Presbyterian churches are journeying together through a nine-month study process. The group is discerning local community needs and identifying potential partners with whom we might share our under-utilized church space for good in Post Falls.

On November 10, local community leaders will be at CPC for a building and property walk-through, bringing their "outside eyes" to help us imagine possibilities. Continue to pray for the Design Team and our whole congregation as we move into the future God has for us!

Bible Study Schedule

Women’s Bible Study - Thursdays at 9:45 am

Thursday, November 20 will be the last class for Twelve Extraordinary Women and the Thursday Bible Study. We will take Thanksgiving Thursday and the month of December off. The next study will be on 1 Corinthians, starting on Thursday, January 8 at 9:45 a.m

Adult Bible Study = Fridays at 10:00 am

Friday, November 21 will be the last Bible Study meeting for 2025. We will take the whole month of December off, and resume on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Please contact Heather Westlake at hwestlake64@gmail.com if you have any questions about Bible Studies and if you need study materials. Thank you!

Pastor Betsey will be installed as our pastor in a special installation service of the Inland Northwest Presbytery here at CPC on November 16 at 12:30 p.m. Come worship with us that day at 10 am, share in a potluck lunch (sign up to bring something!), then stay for the installation -- which will last less than an hour. The greater community and presbytery will be invited to share in this joyous event!

Faith Promise (Pledge) Sunday is November 23!

In worship, we will celebrate all the time, talent, and treasure that God has given this congregation, and pledge to give a portion of it back to God in 2026. Thank you for picking up your stewardship packets last weekend at worship. All other letters will be mailed this week.

For easy access, click here to read the stewardship letter. Click here to view (download and print) a pledge card. Thanks!

Bountiful Sunday Meals, our free weekly community meal, continues to build up our community! Join in the fellowship and share your gift of service!

To volunteer, sign up in the Fellowship Hall or contact Julie Hoerner at sjgk4h@roadrunner.com.

Operation Christmas Child - boxes due by 11/16

For many, it is their first gift ever! Delivered by our local church partners, shoebox gifts provide an opportunity to present the Gospel to boys and girls in a clear, child-friendly way. Please consider putting together a box (or many) for the children.

  • SHOEBOX - Get a standard-size shoebox to pack for a boy or girl.

  • "WOW" ITEM - Select a quality "wow" toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal to bless a child.

  • OTHER GIFTS - Pack full of other fun toys, hygiene items and school supplies.

  • PRAY - Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. Include a personal note and photo to delight the heart of a child.

  • DONATE $10 PER BOX - A donation of $10 per box is critical to cover shipping and other project costs.

  • DROP OFF - Please deliver your box to CPC by 11/16. Our team will deliver all boxes to our local drop-off location the next day.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD!

Reminder to "Fall Back" one hour before you go to bed on 11/1. Daylight savings ends at 2 am on 11/2.

Free Publications for Spiritual Growth

Available at the Church

If you are looking for easy, good reading that will be spiritually nurturing and connect you to the community, look no further than the Fellowship Hall! Two FREE publications are available to anyone who wants them:

  • The Upper Room Daily Devotional Guide provides a practical way to listen to scripture, connect with believers around the world, and spend time with God each day.

  • The Fig Tree is an independent non-profit newspaper and resource directory in the Inland Northwest. Their monthly newspaper covers a variety of stories and events related to faith communities and organizations in our area. Their aim is to spread hope, build understanding among diverse people, and energize people for action. If you wish to support the Fig Tree, they are currently running a fall fund drive.
