Worship with us every Sunday at 10 am.

All are welcome.

Dear CPC Family,

The photo above shows the beautiful rose on the table from this last Sunday honoring the new baby girl born in our congregation to Kathryn and Sam West. What a joy to have new life among us!

Right next to the rose is the tiny clay container that on Ash Wednesday held ashes, a reminder of our mortality. I love that these two symbols sit side by side, reminding us that in life and in death, we belong to God. The church is one place where it is safe (and expected!) that we acknowledge the great mysteries of being human: that our lives are sacred AND they have limits, that God chooses to partner with us to bring hope, that we were made for relationship, so that no one has to go through this life alone. I am grateful each week to contemplate these realties with you and to experience God's love and God's call together.

With Easter coming up, it's time for all of us to think about friends, family members, and neighbors we might invite to experience the blessing of being a part of a vibrant worshipping community. I believe that everyone is longing for meaning and community -- so let's not keep this gift to ourselves. I challenge you to think of two people you could invite to join us on Easter Sunday...or before!

In Christ,

Betsey

Read through the Gospel of John

with the CPC Congregation!

You are invited to read through the entire Gospel of John (our preaching focus for the season) during the 40 days of Lent -- counted as every day between now and Easter, minus the Sundays. The readings start small and grow as the season and gospel develops. Print your own guide (click here), or pick up a reading guide in the narthex.

Then:

  • Before each reading, take a deep breath and ask God to be present to you in the words you read.
  • Follow the Lectio Divina (Divine Reading) pattern, Read - Meditate (What part of this passage resonates with me today?) - Pray - Restful Silence
  • Consider journaling your thoughts as you go.

"Dementia Friends" Class at CPC

March 15 - After Worship - Free and Open to the Public

Rev. Brad Buff, Facilitator

The Dementia Friends program focuses on five key messages:

  • Dementia is not a normal part of aging.
  • Dementia is caused by diseases of the brain.
  • It is not just about losing your memory.
  • It’s possible to live well with dementia.
  • There is more to the person than the dementia.

Those who attend the presentation will leave with a basic understanding of dementia, along with ideas of small things that every person can do to make a difference. This training will help you recognize, respond to, or accompany a person experiencing dementia.

Facilitator Brad Buff has over 40 years of experience ministering to older adults and an MSW in Geriatric Social Work.
