Worship with us every Sunday at 10 am.

All are welcome.

Dear CPC Congregation,

Tomorrow is May Day! I have fond memories of clipping lilacs from the bushes at my grandparents' house, putting them in homemade construction paper cones, and leaving them on neighbors' doorsteps. It was a beautiful, simple practice of spreading goodwill and is a great visual of how God intends for the church to function: getting out into the community to spread the aroma of Christ.

The month of May is full at CPC. This Sunday, we'll have a presentation on local butterflies; on May 17, we will welcome a guest preacher from the presbytery AND receive a large group of new members; May 24 is Pentecost, which we'll celebrate with a "fiery" chili potluck after worship; and May 31 will be Music Appreciation Sunday.

Thank you for being a part of such a vibrant community and for all the ways that YOU are a blessing to our community.

Grace and peace,

Betsey

May 10 (Mother's Day): "God’s Favorites"

May 17: "Dreaming of a New Community" - Guest Preacher: Johnny Edmondson

Stay after church this coming Sunday to learn about one of God's living signs of new life among us: butterflies! Mark Schuller will offer a presentation to show the beauty and intricacy of design that God has put into creatures that are so small and inconsequential that most people ignore them.

Mark started his career as a biologist with the Washington Department of Fisheries, with work extending from the Skykomish River north to the Canadian border. He then moved to Rockford, Washington and worked with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, helping farmers and ranchers all over Washington and Idaho develop ways to protect and improve salmon habitat on their property. During the last few years, Mark and his wife Marnalynn have developed a fascination with butterflies; now Mark applies his biology background and his Christian faith to marvel at these amazing creatures.

Tune in to Shine 104.9 on your FM radio to hear Pastor Betsey reading the daily Bible verse in the month of May! Many thanks to CPC member Larry Jones for making the arrangements.

What a great way for the CPC name to get out into the community!

Bring a crockpot of chili, cornbread, a dessert, or a fruit to share...

or just come to eat - you choose!

Come and spend time chatting with fellow worshippers at CPC! Bring whatever you want to work on (could be a craft like sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, crochet, knitting, stamping, painting, drawing, etc. or something else like sorting your bills, or bring nothing and just chat)! Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Bring your own lunch. See Heather Westlake with any questions.

What theological or Biblical questions do you wonder about? (Why do we baptize infants? If God is sovereign and good, why do bad things happen? Do all dogs go to heaven?)

Pastor Betsey and a few guest preachers will be exploring a different question of faith each Sunday, June - August, in our summer sermon series, "Not All Who 'Wonder' are Lost.". Please submit your questions via email or in the "Big Questions" basket in the Fellowship Hall no later than May 20.

CPC Member Kara Wills recently returned from a Mission Trip to Costa Rica with the Campus Christian Fellowship from Western Washington University. Many of you supported Kara through direct financial support and prayers.

Kara writes: “Thanks to CPC and my awesome church family for your support, prayers and love - for this mission trip and always! This was an amazing God-filled experience for me and the team that got to go. The Lord blessed us in so many ways. In His name, we created meaningful relationships not only with the ministry we were partnering with, but also with many students we came across in our outreach, despite the language barrier. Costa Rica and this mission trip will always have a special place in my heart."
