Worship with us every Sunday at 10 am.

All are welcome.

Happy Thursday, CPC Family!

Thank you to everyone who showed up in worship on Sunday for the momentous occasion of electing a new installed pastor. I can't tell you how excited I am to be that person. We have so much LIFE ahead of us that we will now be experiencing together. Thanks be to God!

This coming Sunday in worship, we will be considering the person of Abraham, whom God called to leave all that was familiar and venture out into the unknown -- to "the place that God would show him." This call into an unknown future is one we share with Abraham and Sarah. Especially as we get ready to start a year-long community study through our presbytery's Ezra 3 initiative, we don't know yet what partnerships and ministries God is calling us into -- but we DO know that God is good, our Post Falls community is growing and changing, and we've got each other as we step out into it!

Grace and Peace,

Betsey

Interesting Tidbits about our new pastor, Betsey Moe

Betsey was born in Lewiston, Idaho and raised in Clarkston, Washington and is the second of four siblings.

She has been married to her husband Eric, a professional musician and financial planner, for 30 years. They have three children: Henry, Owen, who are college students, and Zoey, a sophmore in high school. Since June, they have had the joy of fostering a teenage daughter, Andy, from Guatemala.

Betsey is a proud graduate of Whitworth University (English/Creative Writing Major) and Princeton Seminary (M.Div. and M.A. in Christian Education). She was ordained as a pastor in 2003 with a chunky one-year-old son on her hip.

Betsey is bilingual in English and Spanish. She loves intercultural spaces and friendships and believes our lives are infinitely richer when we are surrounded by cultural diversity.

Betsey has a large, new garden and loves to cook with fresh ingredients while listening to lively music. Her best crop this year is tomatoes. She and Eric have been vegetarians for a year and a half, although they enjoy good fresh fish on occasion.

Betsey's parents, Bob and Marsha Broyles, live part of the year on CDA Lake, so you will also be seeing them often in worship here at CPC.

Starting this fall, there will be a series of special events designed for you to get to know Betsey and for Betsey to get to know you. Stay tuned!

Visit the "Share the Harvest" Table

The SHARE THE HARVEST Table is a place throughout the summer and early fall where you may bring extra garden or orchard produce to share with others at CPC. Those without a garden will get to enjoy the fresh fruit and veggies, and those with overabundant gardens will get to share in a simple way. Come one, come all to the SHARE THE HARVEST Table to give and take freely!

NEW Nametags for All

Next month, you will be seeing new, colorful nametags -- featuring CPC's refreshed logo -- hanging in the Fellowship Hall. Now is a great time to let us know if you would like to change the way your name is printed. (Email jen@pfcpc.org with changes, or if you've never had a nametag but would like one.) As always, remember to WEAR YOUR NAMETAG on Sunday mornings so that we may all welcome, know, and love one another in Christ.

Family Promise Update

Thank you to everyone who helped host a family at our church this last week. We prayed in worship for the father of the family, John, who had to be taken to the emergency room last weekend for a sudden illness. He is now back with his family and on the mend. Continue to pray for John, his family, and for all families facing housing insecurity.

Bountiful Sunday Meals, our free weekly community meal, continues to build up our community!! Join in the fellowship and share your gift of service!

To volunteer, sign up in the Fellowship Hall or contact Julie Hoerner at sjgk4h@roadrunner.com.

The 3rd Avenue Marketplace is part of the Idaho Foodbank. Each month we offer a suggested "focus" on products, however we welcome each and every type of donation for 3rd Avenue Marketplace. We accept donations at church every Sunday. (Box located in the narthex.)
