Worship with us every Sunday at 10 am.

All are welcome.

Dear CPC Family,

What does it mean to be blessed?

We use the word all the time. A happy family. A beautiful day. A job that pays the bills. Good health. A moment when life just feels right. We often use "blessed" as another way of saying fortunate or content.

But is that what the Bible means when it talks about blessing?

For the next three weeks, we're going to dig into this surprisingly rich word in both the Old and New Testaments. And we'll discover that God's idea of blessing is bigger, deeper, and far more challenging than simply having a good life.

Think about Abraham and Sarah. When God called them, God made an extraordinary promise: I will bless you, so that you will be a blessing. God's blessing was never meant to stop with them. It was meant to travel — through them and out into the world, reaching people and places they could never have imagined.

What if blessing isn't just about what we have, but about what God is doing through us? What if it's not simply something we receive, but something we participate in — something we help multiply?

For the next three weeks, let's explore what it means to live inside that promise. Not just to count our blessings, but to become a blessing.

Peace to each of you,

Betsey

Pastor Betsey Moe

On Sunday, November 1, five people from CPC offered testimonies of loved ones past and present whose faith influenced their lives: Carrie Stuart, Claudia Phenneger, Jennifer French, Bob Brawley, and Sue Mathews. Listen to their testimonies by clicking here. Feel free to share this with others.

This year, our stewardship sermon series invites us to reflect on what the concept of being BLESSED meant for God's people in the early church. As we discover how God’s blessings are meant to flow through us rather than stop with us, we’ll consider how our giving can make a difference today and for generations to come. The series will culminate as we bring forward our Faith Promise pledges for 2027 on November 22.

November 8: "Blessed" Genesis 12:1-3, Matthew 14:13-21

November 15: "A Life that Leaves a Legacy" 1 Timothy 6:18-19 -- Rev. Heidi Bolt of the Presbyterian Foundation, Guest Preacher

November 22: “Blessing Is Meant to Flow” 2 Corinthians 9:6–12; Luke 12:22–34

CPC Stewardship News

This week, you'll receive a letter in the mail from our Stewardship elder, Nelson Gourley. The CPC session invites everyone to give with intention by using the "Faith Promise" card -- prayerfully determining how much you will be able to give to God's work in and through CPC next year.

We know that the year ahead will bring increased costs and a growing church budget. We also recognize that the economic realities facing many households are challenging, and we honor that each person's circumstances are different.

A pledge is not a measure of anyone's faith or generosity, but an expression of gratitude and a commitment to participate in the life and mission of this community. Whether you are able to give more, maintain your current pledge, or give less than you have in the past, we invite you to give thoughtfully, prayerfully, and joyfully.

Plan to bring your filled-in Faith Promise card on November 22 to offer as an act of worship!

This year, CPC and Calvary Lutheran Church are teaming up to put on a special Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, November 25 at 6:30 p.m. The service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church at 1011 N. Compton Street in Post Falls -- and Pastor Betsey will be the preacher. We realize that some people go out of town or are busy with family festivities on Thanksgiving Eve, but for those of you who ARE around and looking for inspiration and community, please come! We will share communion with our neighboring faith community and express gratitude for all of God's blessings.

Legacy Giving

Can Make a Difference

for Good

On Sunday, November 15, the Rev. Heidi Bolt from the Presbyterian Foundation will be guest preaching at CPC. She will also lead a workshop after church for those curious about estate planning with purpose. All are invited to come explore  the powerful ways our values can inform our estate plans and about the many ways we can respond to God’s generosity both now and into the future.
