A Message from Our
Executive Director
|
|
Dear Friends of CPC,
Last month we learned the devastating news that our beloved, former Executive Director, Carol Clews had passed away. We cannot emphasize enough how important Carol was to the the pro-life movement in Maryland, and to the Center for Pregnancy Concerns, especially for her vision of Options@328. Click here for the Remembering Carol Clews
link sent out earlier this month.
I'd also like to announce that Gretchen Carney, CPC's Director of Development will be retiring at the end of June. Gretchen has been a tremendous support to me. Her efforts to assist in the planning and opening of Options@328, while holding our first ever virtual event during a pandemic, has been invaluable. Thank you for all you have done for CPC.
As mentioned in last month's newsletter, current staff roles and responsibilities have been updated to meet current needs. I'd like to introduce you to our staff members and list their roles with CPC:
Center Staff
Gina Ruppert, Executive Director
Paula Caponiti, Director of Development
Wendy Valenzuela, First Impressions Coordinator
Susan Fronheiser, Patient Care Advocate
Kate Plaut, R.N., Nurse Manager
Kelly Wargo, R.D.M.S., Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Linda Gossman, Resource Center/Education Coordinator, Mars Hill Baptist, Essex
Joan Mattes, R.N., Resource Center Coordinator/Advocate, St. Ann's, Baltimore
It's time to plan for our Fall event. We'd love to gather in person, but we need to hear from you! Please complete the Fall Event Poll contained in this newsletter to help us determine an in-person, virtual, or hybrid event.
Last but not least, we honor all Mothers especially this month. "Let her joy be contagious; let her passion be pure; and let her life overflow with all the blessings she deserves—on special days, and on every day of her life. In Jesus’s name, Amen." Happy Mother's Day!
We are blessed by your faithful support and are excited for the future!
Warm regards,
Gina Ruppert, Executive Director
The Center for Pregnancy Concerns & Options@328

Farewell to Outgoing Development Director,
Gretchen Carney
|
|
CPC's Development Director, Gretchen Carney will be retiring June 30, 2021. Gretchen joined CPC in February of 2018 and her efforts have allowed us to make new friends and grow our fundraising efforts. Her work enabled us to fully fund our new medical services facility at 328 N. Howard Street, Options@328. Thank you for supporting the pro-life mission and for your years of dedicated service! We wish you all the best in your retirement. You will be missed!

We see many clients each week. Some allow us to take a picture. Here is a client with Kate Plaut, R.N., holding up her sonogram pictures. Her eyes sparkle as she can see her baby growing inside of her.
Below is a picture of another sonogram we performed on a client. She and the baby's father were nervous and unsure about the pregnancy, but after we spoke and prayed with our client, she was elated that she was having twins.
Thank you for supporting CPC and our medical services facility, Options@328.

Brightcourse Online Education Classes at CPC
|
|
Did you know that CPC now offers FREE online parenting and lifeskills courses to all of our clients?
When COVID hit and our clients were homebound, CPC had to find a new way to help women get the tools needed to create healthy families. Brightcourse offers classes like prenatal care, parenting, relationships, lifeskills, and more! One of our Essex Resource Center Clients, pictured with CPC Client Advocate, Linda Gossman, (right) says, "I've been doing the classes for several months. They are very informative, I love them!" Your support helps fund our Brightcourse Video Streaming Program which we offer to all clients free of charge. Thank you for your support.

Knights of Columbus Fr. Burggraff Council #6021 and St. Joseph Fullerton School & Parish come together to raise over $16,400 in this year's Baby Bottle Campaign!
|
|
CPC received a visit from Knights of Columbus Council #6021 after their 2021 Baby Bottle Campaign. KOC Fr. Burrgraff Council members Calvin Anthony, Glen Sauer and Robert Medeiros (L to R) presented Gina Ruppert, Executive Director, and outgoing Director of Development, Gretchen Carney, with a check for over $16,400. These funds came from a donation drive coordinated by the Father Burggraff Council. We also thank parishioners of St. Joseph's Catholic School and Church in Fullerton for their years of support. A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in running this campaign during Covid-19. We are grateful for your passion and generosity.

Father Burggraff Knights of Columbus Council members are pictured above with the new 4D Chison Sonogram Machine which was funded by a grant from the Knights of Columbus in Maryland. Pictured left is the patient care room that was dedicated in honor of all members of the Knights of Columbus in Maryland. We are deeply grateful to this men's-only organization and their continued support of women and their unborn babies! We encourage other KOC councils to consider running a Baby Bottle Campaign. Your church, group, or organization can sponsor a Virtual Baby Bottle Campaign! For details please call Paula at 443-884-8209 or email at paula@centerforpregnancyconcerns.org.
To make a contribution now, donate below.
Please be sure to indicate your Church Name so we can assign your donation to your place of worship.
