A Message from Gina

Dear Friends,

It is hard to believe that summer is winding down and our new center will soon be ready to receive clients. It has been a difficult and trying time for most of us as we continue to endure the challenges brought on by the pandemic. Building and planning for uncertain times has been scary. But we are reminded in 2 Corinthians 5:7 that we live by faith and not by sight. God has a mighty plan for our ministry and our new location; we need only trust that He will continue to guide us in our mission.

There have been times this month where an existing donor has surprised us with a timely donation, or we have gained a new donor's support. We are truly amazing at your faithfulness to CPC. We have been disappointed by cancelled events, and then have been introduced to people who are helping us reimagine a new kind of event. God continues to bring new life, and new creations through all of you. We know that there is no power in destruction. Power lies in creation. Please keep us in your prayers as we work together to create new ideas, new events, and new ways to support our clients.

We are excited to announce the name of our new location at 328 N. Howard St.--OPTIONS@328. The name was chosen to be an empowering invitation for women in Baltimore to enter our doors and receive non-judgmental information regarding their options. We will bravely speak to them about ALL of the options available to them. We will present LIFE affirming information as well as support for those in need of healing. This location's name was designed to attract the abortion vulnerable to a safe, warm, welcoming place to discuss their individual circumstances and find resources to support their physical, emotional, and spiritual lives. We hope that you are as excited as we are to open the doors and be a candle in the darkness on Howard Street.

Opening Soon!

If you drive by 328 N. Howard St. in the next two weeks you will see lots going on. The glass storefront should be installed by the time you read this. Once the glass is installed, the windows will go in, the exterior will be painted, the front rolling shutter installed, the exterior sign mounted and final interior touch-ups. Then things will start to get really pretty when the furniture is delivered on September 14th!

What is a...

Last October, we had 400 people attend our Fall Event in Hunt Valley. Donations from the event funded almost 25% of our annual operating expenses. With the opening of Options@328, our expenses are increasing. We can't gather in a large or medium group. Many of us are not comfortable in groups of even 10 people. What are we going to do?

We're going VIRTUAL on October 22nd at 7:30pm!! You will have an opportunity to view the Options@328 ribbon cutting, tour the new location, celebrate CPC's 40th Anniversary and, most importantly, show your support by making an online donation.

Our BrightCourse moms are excited about the program. They can join this free program and access classes through their phone. Last month you met Daniela, our BrightCourse "Super Star". This month we heard from one of our Essex moms. Attending in-person classes was a challenge to her but this is what she had to say; "...the courses on my phone are so much better. Sometimes I had to bring kids to the classes at the Center and they were doing a lot of running around while I'm trying to pay attention. Now I can just relax and pay attention to the lesson."

We now have 40 moms enrolled in BrightCourse taking classes in both English and Spanish. Your generosity allows us to deliver this important program. We can't thank you enough!
