"God The Father"

Matthew 6:6-15 | Pastor Aaron McMillan

Is there anyone anywhere who hasn't at some moment found themselves talking.. to God. We talk about Him all the time, but what is God actually like? Join us for the next three weeks as we dig a bit deeper into the One who has always been and always will be.

Father's Day at CPC:  Faith, Family, and Fiesta – Celebrating Nacho Average Dad! This Father's Day, we’re throwing a fiesta in the church lobby to honor all the incredible dads, grandpas, uncles, and father figures who are nacho-average guys! These men are faith-filled leaders, backyard grill masters, (bad) joke-tellers, and everyday heroes in our church family. Come for the laughs, stay for the snacks, and let’s celebrate the amazing men who’ve helped shape our faith and families. Trust us—this is nacho-ordinary Sunday!

Missions Fair: Next Sunday, June 22nd we’re excited to welcome Leo Ackon from International Justice Mission (IJM) as part of our Missions Sunday focus. Leo will be sharing about IJM’s powerful work around the world—rescuing people from slavery, fighting injustice, and standing up for the vulnerable. Make sure to stop by, meet Leo, and hear how God is using IJM to bring hope and justice to those who need it most.

PB&J. High schoolers — something brand new is happening… and it’s called PB&J.

What does it stand for? Great question. Is it a secret code? A party? A sandwich appreciation club? Only one way to find out: be there. Bring your friends. Bring your curiosity. Leave your guesses at the door. Wanna know more? This week we will meet at The Rumple's house from 6-8pm on June 20. Courtney’s got the inside scoop — email her or find her on Sunday (she’s probably near the coffee).

Disaster Relief to NC: We are returning to the Asheville area of NC October 26-31 to help with relief efforts from hurricane Helene. The restoration work will take between 3 and 5 years for the area to recover. We are taking a team of 14 people max. This is an intergenerational missions opportunity. You can register here at Disaster Relief October 2025.

Need for Pot Roasts: Each month, CPC provides a warm, homemade meal of pot roasts for the Lamb Center, a day shelter serving homeless men and women in our community. We’re looking for 13 volunteers to prepare roasts for Tuesday, June 17 — and we’d love your help! You can bring your fully assembled roast to church on Sunday, June 15, or deliver it hot to CPC by 10:00 AM on June 17. A simple, crowd-pleasing recipe is available on the CPC sign-up page.

1822: Attention 18-22 year olds! This summer we'll be diving into First and Second Timothy not only to steward our faith but also to share Christ with others. We feel that bringing this study back is critical to this age group because we know the importance of fellowship with other believers in this walk of life. 1822 will be held every Monday from 7-9PM at CPC, through August 4th in room 101. If you have any questions feel free to come speak with Jocelyn, Jaiden, or Jonathan after the service.

God on the Battlefield: Our faith in Christ transforms every area of life. Join us on June 29th at 10:30am in room 201 for a special seminar where two veterans share about the experience of serving in combat zones and coming back home. How does faith in God shape how soldiers face the challenges of war and readjust to life afterwards. Mike Kershner served 27 years as a Green Beret rising to the rank of Colonel and serving as deputy commanding officer of U.S. Army Special Forces Command (Airborne). Steve Powell served seven tours as a member of Air Force Special Forces (JSOC), and was awarded the bronze star.

Serve at CPC: God has given each of us time and talents, and using them to serve others is one of the most meaningful ways we can glorify Him. At CPC, there are plenty of opportunities to jump in—whether it’s helping with kids, welcoming guests, supporting behind the scenes, or serving during worship.

There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to serving at CPC, and there’s definitely a spot that fits you. If you’re ready to get plugged in or just want to learn more, stop by the welcome desk or reach out to the church office. We’d love to help you find your place!
