| CPDA Hosts Record-Breaking Washington Fly-In | | |
CPDA welcomed nearly 70 executives and industry leaders to Washington, D.C. last week for one of the most successful fly-ins in the association’s history. Nearly half of CPDA's 86 member companies were represented.
Over two days, CPDA members met with congressional offices, the Environmental Protection Agency, the White House, and other key policymakers to highlight the importance of a predictable, science-based regulatory system that ensures farmers have access to the tools they need to produce abundant and affordable food, fuel, and fiber.
Discussions throughout the week focused on several of CPDA’s priority issues, including ensuring adequate resources for EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs, maintaining a risk-based pesticide regulatory framework, addressing implementation of the Endangered Species Act, and supporting innovation and competition in crop protection technologies.
| | White House & Administration Engagement | |
Fly-in participants also had the opportunity to meet with senior administration officials during a meeting hosted at the White House. Calley Means, Senior Advisor at the Department of Health and Human Services, joined staff from USDA, EPA, and USTR to discuss the administration’s priorities related to agriculture, health policy, and regulatory oversight.
The discussion provided CPDA members an opportunity to share perspectives on crop protection technologies, regulatory predictability, and the role these products play in supporting farmer productivity, affordability and food security.
| Calley Means, Senior Advisor at the Department of Health and Human Services | | Supply Chain Discussion with National Security Council | In February, CPDA hosted a discussion with National Security Council staff and USDA Deputy Secretary Stephen Vaden focused on protecting the agricultural input supply chain. The conversation explored potential vulnerabilities affecting crop protection products and other critical agricultural inputs, along with policy approaches to strengthen domestic resilience and ensure farmers maintain reliable access to these tools. | | Courtney Knupp of the National Security Council also joined CPDA members during the fly-in dinner on Wednesday evening to provide an update on the administration’s ongoing work to safeguard agricultural supply chains and support U.S. agricultural competitiveness. | | |
CPDA members also met with leadership and staff from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Pesticide Programs to discuss the agency’s ongoing efforts to improve the pesticide registration process and reduce the regulatory backlog.
Members highlighted the importance of maintaining adequate resources for OPP and ensuring farmers continue to have timely access to the crop protection tools they depend on.
| | House Agriculture Committee Advances Farm Bill | |
The House Agriculture Committee recently advanced the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, an important step toward updating farm policy and providing certainty for farmers and rural communities.
The legislation includes several provisions aligned with CPDA priorities, including support for adjuvants and policies that help ensure farmers retain access to modern crop protection tools.
CPDA appreciates the bipartisan effort by Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson and members of the Committee to move the legislation forward and encourages Congress to continue working toward passage of a comprehensive farm bill.

| | Industry Leaders Discuss Policy Landscape at Fly-In | |
On March 3, CropLife America President and CEO Alexandra Dunn joined CPDA President and CEO Terry Kippley for a fireside chat with fly-in attendees.
The discussion highlighted collaboration between CLA and CPDA and outlined CLA’s policy priorities for 2026. Dunn also provided an update on the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement and discussed the broader policy environment surrounding crop protection technologies.

Laurie Flanagan also addressed the group to discuss the work of the PRIA Coalition and preparations for upcoming PRIA 6 negotiations.
Her remarks focused on ongoing collaboration across industry partners to ensure the next iteration of the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act continues to support an efficient regulatory process while maintaining the strong scientific standards that underpin EPA’s pesticide review program.
| | ESA DRA Effort Highlighted at Commodity Classic | |
CPDA participated in discussions at Commodity Classic highlighting the growing role of Drift Reduction Agents (DRAs) in supporting Endangered Species Act implementation.
As the EPA continues to advance its herbicide strategy and broader ESA mitigation framework, DRAs are increasingly recognized as an important tool that can help farmers and applicators meet mitigation requirements while maintaining effective pest management.
“Every Product. Every Acre. DRA.” initiative highlights practical tools to protect crops, species, and grower access to modern crop protection while improving application performance.
