May 20, American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) & CP Tech Center

Webinar: Best Practices for Concrete Pavement Construction QC and Process Control. Best practices for concrete pavement construction quality control (QC) and process control. The benefits of QC and process control will be discussed, along with approaches to best practices from materials procurement through mixture design and into production paving. Current industry challenges causing issues with materials, mixtures, and consistent paving will be identified and discussed. Tools and guidance to support contractors in mitigating these issues and improving their QC and process control plans/programs will also be described. 12 - 1 pm. Register here.

May 20, American Cement Association, (ACA, previously PCA)

Webinar: Form, Function, and Footprint: A Field Test of Sustainable Concrete Solutions, How should a project team tackle the challenge of lowering the embodied carbon in high-early strength concrete mixes? In November 2023, a consortium of industry stakeholders poured and erected three experimental concrete tilt-wall panels to compare performance between common and innovative concrete mixes, each of which achieves varying levels of embodied carbon reduction when compared to industry average benchmarks. In addition to strength data, the project team recorded field observations comparing the workability and finishability of each mix. Learn the key takeaways from this validation process of lower-carbon concrete mixes, and discover best practices for lower-carbon concrete. 12 - 1 pm. Register here.

May 26, Memorial Day

May 29, MIT-Concrete Sustainability HUB

Webinar: Assessing impact of strength variability, overdesign, and prescriptive specifications on concrete GHG emissions. To decarbonize the built environment, it is important to optimize the environmental performance of both buildings and infrastructure. Concrete is a key material for these applications, and there are opportunities to reduce embodied and operational emissions. Register here.
