Registration is Now Open for CPI Webinar Entitled “Unidentified: Peer Specialists and Identity” Scheduled for December 6 at 3PM

Please join the CPI Peer Specialist Training team (Mya Haley-ACT Institute, Ro Speight & Abbe Duke- OnTrackNY) to learn about the crucial role of Peer Specialist and the deeply meaningful work they do with their teams, the Participants they serve, and the communities they are a part of. CPI is committed to supporting the growth and development of Peer Specialists in NYS, and this webinar will highlight the instrumental identity work being done by ACT Team & OnTrackNY Peer Specialists statewide. 

 

You will earn a certificate for participating in this webinar. CEUs will not be provided.

 

Mya Haley is a peer specialist and recovery trainer and implementation specialist at CPI’s ACT Institute. Mya is a long-time mental health advocate and infused in that work is a focus on racial justice and equity. Mya's work is rooted in the lived experience perspective and she is working towards destigmatizing, normalizing and amplifying that perspective through working collaboratively with the other roles that make up the mental health system.

 

Ro Speight is a NYSCP, an advocate and Recovery Specialist Trainer for CPI’s On Track Central. Ro specializes in multidisciplinary Peer Specialist work and practice. Ro brings an intentional social justice and equity focus to Peer Specialist Training contexts and utilizes relevant lived experience perspectives to inform inclusive and interdisciplinary learning.     

 

Abbe Duke (she, her, hers) is an NYCPS who worked as an OMH Peer Specialist in both clinic and ACT roles before joining CPI as a Peer Specialist Trainer. She is currently in the role of Recovery Specialist & Trainer Supervisor at CPI’s OnTrackNY, where she offers training and technical assistance to Peer Specialists and their supervisors statewide and nationally. Visit https://ontrackny.org/Get-Involved/OnTrack-Peer-Specialists to learn about their Peer Specialist tools.
