- Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a pattern of coercive and abusive behavior used by one intimate partner to gain and maintain power and control over the other partner
IPV can occur with romantic partners of any gender, sexual orientation, age, or relationship status
- IPV affects people of all ages, religions, races, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientation
- Common forms of IPV include physical, emotional, economic, sexual and technological abuse
This module is a collaboration between the Center for Practice Innovations, New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Thrive initiative and the NYC Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence. Video vignettes and interactive exercises are used to increase awareness of this important topic.
