December Officer of the Month

On November 20th, Officer Soto saw a man walking down the street making movements that were consistent with a man holding a gun. As the officers approached, the man took off running. Officer Soto followed on foot and was eventually shot at.
Officer Soto told his partner that he had been shot, his partner examined him and let him know that the bullet had penetrated the vest and was lodged inside of it. The vest that saved Officer Soto was one he received through the Get Behind the Vest Campaign. We are proud to honor Officer Soto with the December Officer of the Month Award. To read more about Officer Soto, click here.
Corey Crawford helped us raise money for Get Behind the Vest. Corey recently restored a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS and is raffling it off to raise money for the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation! The raffle goes through February 18th.
Since 2007, Total amount of assistance given to Chicago Police families in need is $10.2 million.
