A Message From Our President
To all Members, Supporters and Friends:
The government shutdown is temporarily over, and now we cross our fingers that a budget resolution will transpire before the February 15th deadline. Even with resolution the threat to your future pay must be fixed and we will continue to work with Congress for a permanent solution for all military services. We will be asking for your support to send letters to your elected officials when the time comes. Thank you to all of the people who sent the nearly 500,000 letters this last time.

On another note, the CPOA 51st convention and 50th anniversary gala celebration is right around the corner. Convention will convene on April 3rd and conclude on the 5th, and the gala will be held the evening of April 6th. Next, I want to personally thank each and every one of you for the hard work and dedication you have shown throughout this crisis. Every Chapter and Branch displayed the true spirit of why CPOA and CGEA exists. We are united in one cause to take care of each other and our Coast Guard family. Unity is strength!
Also, a special thank you to all of the Chiefs who volunteered at Headquarters to help coordinate phone calls to our Chapters and Branches!
Lastly, I am so proud of our CPOA Headquarters' staff, Randy Reid and Julie Behre. They have maintained the normal daily workload while communicating with partner organizations, Chapters, and Branches to coordinate relief efforts. Additionally they processed over 300 new memberships, and continued the work of planning our convention and gala. Thank you!

Call To Convention
2019 CPOA / CGEA National Convention
1. This serves as official notification of our Association's Annual National Convention which will be held from 3 - 5 April 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 2300 Dulles Corner Blvd, Herndon, Virginia 20171.
2.
All members in good standing have the right to speak on the Convention floor and vote on issues brought before the Assembly. The USCG CPOA Operations Manual states that a quorum at an Annual Convention consists of a majority of those members in good standing in attendance.
3.
As this Convention has been been moved to April to facilitate the celebration of our 50th Anniversary, all Motions to Amend have been put on hold and will be addressed at our 2020 Convention.
4.
Members wishing to dedicate this Convention to an individual, group, etc., shall petition the National President for approval. Once approved, the National Office will be directed to notify everyone concerned and prepare presentation certificates.
5. The tentative schedule for this year's Convention is available on the CPOA website at www.uscgcpoa.org

"Words of Wisdom," Coast Guard, & CPOA memorabilia which will be locked up and placed in the soon to be constructed CG Museum...only to be opened at our 100th Anniversary in 2069.
