From our National President:

On April 7, 2019, the CPOA will celebrate 50 years of service to our fellow Chiefs, our Coast Guard Family and our Communities.  To mark this momentous occasion, the Ad Hoc 50th Anniversary Committee plans to sell a variety of mementos to provide fundraising support for the Birthday events.  To that end, I hereby announce a LOGO CONTEST to select the logo to be used for the entire year of Celebration.  The logo will be used on one side of a 50th Anniversary coin, as well as on other items as decided by the Ad Hoc 50th Anniversary Committee.  The criteria for the Logo Contest can be found here...

TRICARE Retiree Dental Program Includes "gray area" Retirees
tricare
The TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) is available to all military retirees (including "gray area" retirees under age 60) and their eligible family members, unremarried surviving spouses and their eligible children, as well as Medal of Honor recipients and their eligible immediate family members.  The program covers cleanings, exams, fillings, root canals, gum surgery, oral surgery and dental accidents on the first day that coverage becomes effective; after 12 months of being in the program, it then covers crowns, bridges, partials, braces and dental implants.

Book of the Month

The crews of U.S. Coast Guard cutters patrolling the far-flung ocean stations were subjected to some of the heaviest weather the sea had to offer, yet the Cuttermen remained on station to make weather observations and to provide navigation, communication, and search-and-rescue services. On ocean station, seamanship was survival. Ocean Station: Operations of the U.S. Coast Guard, 1940 1977, is a well-researched text and a gripping read.
