CPOA Celebrates 50 Years of Supporting the Coast Guard Family

For 50 years the CPOA has worked to support the U.S. Coast Guard and its thousands of members. The organization marked its 50th anniversary on Saturday night, 6 April, with a star-studded evening of U.S. Coast Guard royalty, Chiefs from across the country, and organizations that work with us to support Coast Guard enlisted service members. Former Commandant Thad Allen, Master Chief Petty Officer of the U.S. Coast Guard Jason M. Vanderhaden and many others celebrated in Herndon, Va.

Custom Services to
Preserve Stories
We respect each other and our clients by listening and hearing their stories. It is through stories that we can learn to value and connect with each other. What we create will be a lasting legacy for years to come.

Ideally Halcyon Reflections would like to capture stories before anyone has to say "I wish".

Our Newest Partner
About First Command:  In the early 1950s, Air Force Lt. Col. Carroll Payne worked closely with the families of several crew members killed in a series of training flights. Saddened by the survivors' financial difficulties, he began laying the groundwork for the company that would become First Command.

In 1958, First Command was founded with a simple goal: to improve the financial well-being of service members and their families. Today, more than half a century later, our commitment remains the same. We strive to give military families the peace of mind that comes from being prepared and the confidence that comes from being at their best... in every facet of their lives.

Aaron Redd Foundation
Golf Classic
A aron had a dream to be a Coast Guardsman. He wanted to save lives and be part of something bigger than himself. On 28 June, 2016, he began that dream when he and his fellow Recruits set foot on the grounds of the Cape May Training Center in New Jersey. He was ready to serve his Country.

Only a few days later he collapsed on the training course. On 6 July with his family and new Coast Guard family by his bedside, Aaron passed away. By donating his heart, Aaron was able to fulfill his purpose as a Coastie and save a life.

 Book of the Month
In this instant New York Times bestseller, pioneering psychologist Angela Duckworth shows anyone striving to succeed be it parents, students, educators, athletes, or business people-that the secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but a special blend of passion and persistence she calls "grit."

Drawing on her own powerful story as the daughter of a scientist who frequently noted her lack of "genius," Duckworth, now a celebrated researcher and professor, describes her early eye-opening stints in teaching, business consulting, and neuroscience, which led to the hypothesis that what really drives success is not "genius" but a unique combination of passion and long-term perseverance.
