Vaccine Management Tips

New Counseling Codes

As highlighted in our December Vaccine Vitals, new time‑based CPT codes for immunization counseling went into effect January 1, 2026. These codes allow practices to capture and bill for counseling provided when a vaccine is not administered on the same date of service.

Practices should document time, topics discussed, and reasons for declined/ delayed vaccines and confirm with payers that these codes are added to fee schedules.
