What a great time catching up and celebrating the season with our wonderful members as well as recognizing those that are "Peake" performers! Each year CPPA proudly presents the Peake Awards to honor excellence and creativity in our association and industry. This celebration honors recipients in nine categories in addition to any Excellence In Promotions (EIP) Campaigns submitted. The EIP awards are designed to recognize campaigns that feature excellence in the practical application of promotional items.

This year's ceremony, hosted by emcee Robert Titelman, Sr. of Skylight Creative Ideas, honored a total of 16 recipients who each received a beautiful award which was provided by our event's main sponsor, Pacesetter Awards. A full list of this year's recipients may be found here.

We would like to thank not only Pacesetter Awards for the gorgeous trophies but also API Source for sponsoring the bar, Apogee Commemoratives for providing the table centerpieces and to all that brought items to be donated to Toys for Tots which delivers hope to children during the holiday season and beyond. Your generosity will go a long way to those in need and is truly appreciated.

And finally, a special thank you to those who have served on the board of directors and are finishing their terms this year as well as a huge welcome to those who are joining the board of directors in 2024.

Pantone Picks ‘Peach Fuzz’ As The 2024 Color Of The Year

Pantone continues a warming trend with its 2024 Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz (PANTONE 13-1023), a “velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul,” the company announced.

“In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

The pastel hue, nestled between pink and orange, echoes the earth tones that have been surging in popularity in the past year as people emerge from the pandemic looking for warmth, connection and optimism. Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, says that, given the turmoil of the past few years, Pantone sought a warm, inviting color that would evoke community and togetherness.

Navigating Beyond Vanity Metrics — Do Followers, Likes and Comments on Social Media Really Matter?

Lena Grundhoefer * Entrepreneur Leadership Network Contributor CEO and Founder of ZEITG3IST

Brands spend a lot of money chasing vanity metrics on social media, but this doesn't always translate into tangible ROI. Here's what to do about it.

Social media is filled with vanity metrics to the point that they are often used to quantify the success of any particular campaign. From follower counts to likes, comments, quotes, and reposts, everyone chases this engagement, but few people can actually tell you what they mean or why they matter.

When performing a Google search, there's an endless line of marketplaces that offer to sell us these vanity metrics so that we can flex a number on a screen. And people buy it — even the most popular social accounts have a non-trivial volume of fake followers. These fake metrics can likely do more harm than good, limiting reach for the sake of numbers on a screen.

Everybody chases the dragon, but beyond website clicks and potential sales leads, the ROI of vanity metrics are thin. Read More

The State of Growth 2023

PPAI Media

The State of Growth 2023

From its conception, PPAI 100 was meant to be more than just a once-a-year ranking of promo companies. It’s a roadmap for what the industry can look like and a resource for member companies to know where they stand compared to their high-performing peers.

That mission, which began in June with the unveiling of the new rankings, extends beyond companies that were selected for the inaugural PPAI 100. This summer, PPAI Media asked industry distributors and suppliers of all sizes a series of questions involving key performance indicators to assess the business fundamentals and revenue growth standards within different segments of the industry.

This report focuses on the important indicators and drivers that PPAI Media used to score the PPAI 100 Growth category and features a complete listing of suppliers and distributors of all sizes that have earned new PPAI 100 High Marks for Growth.
