The Grand Opening of Talavera Park to Take Place This Weekend
The City of Menifee is inviting the community to the new Talavera Park. The park will open this Saturday, February 12 at 10:00 AM. The first 50 visitors will receive a free plastic bento box and a swag bag from the city.

The County of Riverside & AmPac Business Capital are partnering to provide emergency and ongoing capital for small businesses in Riverside County. Restart loans are available to businesses located anywhere in the county. Loans may be given for $15,000 to $30,000. Apply here.

January 2022 REALTOR® Report
The latest REALTOR® report by the Southwest Riverside County Association of Realtors has been published. 

Overall, the numbers are trending on the positive side in terms of median home price and inventory. The report anticipates a positive legislative outlook for the year after advocacy efforts to prevent Assembly Bill 854 were successful. Learn more.

Position Highlight - AB 1001: OPPOSED
This week, the Menifee Chamber joined the coalition to oppose AB 1001 (Garcia). Read Full Bill Text

“Opposition of this bill is in line with the platform and interests of the Menifee Chamber considering that this does not streamline, but adds to the burden of, the CEQA process. The redundancy to existing construction requirements would likely add to the cost of construction which will only stand to further price out the very residents who this bill seems to intend to protect, and similarly, be a barrier of cost to prospective corporations or business owners.”
AB 87 and SB 113 Passed, Will Provide COVID Relief for Small Businesses
Economic relief is on the way for small businesses in California. The California Chamber of Commerce led a coalition effort to pass legislation that restored the net operating loss (NOL) deduction and lifted a cap on business incentive tax credits. Read the full story here.
Indoor Mask Mandate to End Feb. 15
California to end its indoor mask mandate for vaccinated individuals on February 15. Schoolchildren will still be required to wear masks while attending classes. Read the full story here.
