The Dean's Newsletter

A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN

Dear CPS Community,

Welcome to another edition of the Dean's Monthly newsletter. As we reflect on the events of February, it's clear that our community continues to thrive and excel in various endeavors. February brought us a plethora of amazing calendar events that brought alumni, faculty, staff and prospective and current students together. We’ve hosted events featuring political leaders from around the country, and those sharing new results of cutting-edge research from our faculty. I particularly enjoyed our in-person Professional Access Roundtable, held in Arlington this semester. It was a delight to watch our students and faculty engage in lively conversations with industry leaders, many of whom are our alumni! It was a testament to the vibrant engagement and networking opportunities that CPS provides.

This month, I’ve been spending time catching up on our great podcast series produced in our college. These podcasts are a great way to connect with our programs outside the classroom and on the go. Subscribe to The Professionals Podcast and Mastering the Room wherever you get your favorite podcasts.

Looking ahead, we're gearing up for a great Giving Day fundraiser on April 3-4. Our focus this year is to raise additional financial support for our students, whether it be to help a student experiencing an unexpected emergency pay their tuition bill thanks to our new Student Emergency Fund, or to pay the fee for a professional certification exam via our new Student Professional Development Fund, or to provide a travel stipend to enable a student to participate in one of our many amazing study abroad programs. Your gift -- whether it is $5 or $5,000 or more -- gets us one step closer to helping our students accomplish their professional goals, which is what a professional school is all about!

We also are already dreaming about the day we see our graduating class walk across the stage at Commencement. It truly is my favorite time of year! I encourage you to mark your calendars for CPS Commencement, which will take place on the evening of Saturday, May 18th. It promises to be a memorable occasion celebrating the achievements of our graduating students.

I extend my gratitude to each member of our community for their contributions to the success and vibrancy of CPS. I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events, whether on campus or virtually.

Warm regards,
