Dear Friends,
Like so many of you, Chris and I have received our first vaccine since the last newsletter. Two things surprised me about the experience:
- Efficiency - I was in and out of the Perimeter Summit vaccination site in 30 minutes, including the required 15-minute post-vaccination wait time.
- Elation - I have not been particularly worried about my personal health risk during this pandemic, but I felt relieved and absolutely giddy afterward.
I understand and respect everyone's decision to vaccinate or not. However, if you are on the fence, I would encourage you to get vaccinated. My experience was positive, and I feel more optimistic about the future since having the vaccine.
A few shout-outs of Appreciation to our amazing leadership team:
- Daytime programs - Ellie Lacey, Karla Stafford, Lesli Asiello, Lisa Enochs, and Susan Fulkerson did an amazing job with our in-person Annual Wine Tasting Event. We had over 40 people at my house, and it was a lovely, loud, joyful event.
- Savvy Evening Group - Beth Armstrong, Chris Cashman, Jean Dole, and Pat Iaffaldano distributed supplies and taught us how to make candles at home.
- Hiking Group - Jean Dole and Trish Wegner-attendance has been so great; the location of the final May hike has been changed to accommodate everyone that wants to come along.
- Family Activities - Kristen Bernheim Farnsley and Christy Santos Kane have coordinated the Easter Egg Hunt....as I write this, I am hoping the weather will cooperate.
- Sunshine Correspondents-Lindsey Mabey and Kristine Ward continue to send get well and birthday cards to our membership.
- First Friday - Karyn Porter arranges host homes, chases down the CPWC wine glasses and helps make the final call as to the safety of meeting together.... or not.
- Communication and Historian-Julie Lischer, the Goddess of CPWC Facebook, Photography and Emails keeps us all in the loop regarding upcoming events.
- Newsletter - Lisa Krueger compiles this fine newsletter and kindly, gently reminds us of deadlines.
- CPWC Board - includes so many not mentioned above. We met (in-person) this week and are excited to plan for next year. Our Nominating Committee has been hard at work identifying leaders for next year.
And so, our theme Appreciate! remains relevant. Appreciation of our leaders and volunteers, nature, friendship, family...and flexibility. Thank you to all who plan, lead, and carry on making our CPWC wonderful.
Stay safe and healthy,
Jean Ann and Chris
Your CPWC Co-Presidents

Let's appreciate the beauty of the Atlanta Botanicals Gardens together on April 16.
We will all arrive at the park at 10:30 am. Carpool gathers at ACC at 9:30 a.m. CPWC was not able to purchase a block of group tickets due to Covid this year. You must purchase your time-window ticket on the ABG website.
Details to follow after you RSVP here. We need your RSVP so we will know you purchased your ticket and are ready to go! We don't want to lose anyone. Once we are in the park, ladies are of course welcome to wander at your own pace wherever you would like.
Tickets are $22.95 + tax per person. You may coordinate with friends and pay for several and only pay the $5 processing fee once. Each transaction may purchase up to 8 tickets. Please select April 16 10:30 time slot.
If you are a ABG Member, your admission will be free and you may make up to two reservations per time slot by clicking the Atlanta Member Reservations button.
Please select April 16 10:30 time slot. Bring your member card and photo id on the day.
We will gather at the entrance between 10:30-10:45. If you are late, do not stress. The time slot reservations are a guideline.
Parking at the ABG is $1 per hour.
The Garden is open rain or shine. Most display garden are outside, so dress appropriately for weather. There are indoor air conditioned and heated areas for guests including the Hardin Visitor Center, Longleaf restaurant and the Fuqua Conservatory and Orchid Center. Refunds or rain checks on admission ticket purchases are not granted for weather-related reasons. In the event of inclement weather that forces closure for safety reasons, the Garden will post on all its social media channels.
Regarding lunch -- There are several options open, including seated cafes and grab-no-go sandwiches. Please coordinate with your carpool as to whether your group would like to stay for lunch.

 CPCA Community News
Thank you to all the residents who have paid their CPCA dues. We appreciate your quick responses to our notice. Thank you to the current treasurer, Doug Krueger, for setting up an easy online payment method for our homeowners. Please pay your dues if you have not done so as there are many expenses to be met (see below for the link).
CPCA will be planting flowers at the two main entrances on Paper Mill Road in April. We hope all of you will enjoy the welcome as you enter the neighborhood. In addition, CPCA has been busy pruning and cleaning our thirteen islands throughout the neighborhood to welcome the spring season.
Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
To view the CPCA Newsletter online, click here. Please consider participating in the CPCA as an annual dues payer, a volunteer, a meeting attendee, and an interested neighbor. (CPCA is separate from CPWC - see the website at cpcaeastcobb.org).
