We have already received 2 photo Christmas cards, so it must be December!
It's been wonderful to see friends at the CPWC activities during November. At the Savvy Evening Group, I learned foreign travel rules change every day. At the Hiking Group, I enjoyed another part of the Chattahoochee National Forrest I'd never seen before. During the Daytime Program, I tasted yummy Fall recipes explained by our very own French Chef, Aurelie Barrial.
Getting out of the house for a change of scenery was lovely, but not as lovely as seeing and catching up with CPWC neighborhood friends. I'd encourage each of you to check out our December calendar and come join us doing something you enjoy with friends you enjoy even more.
Please stop by McFarlane Park this Sunday, December 6 between 3 and 4 p.m. for our Yule Log celebration and bonfire. Santa will read Twas the Night Before Christmas promptly at 3 p.m. and then be available for "socially distanced" pictures. Please RSVP to Kristen Bernheim at kbernheim@yahoo.com.
We are in active planning for our Saturday, February 6 Fundraiser: Party with a Purpose for the benefit of Great Prospects. Great Prospects provides after high school and summer programs for adolescents and young adults with developmental disabilities.
We are looking for 15 homes to host 4-8 couples for an evening meal. Hosts will plan their parties' themes and menus and be responsible for the cost of the meal. Each party guest will contribute $100 directly to Great Prospects. We will also have an online auction during the event. Questions to jeanannmccarthy@yahoo.com.
Meanwhile, have a wonderful Holiday Season......wear your masks, hug your loved ones, eat decadently......and we'll update you in the New Year.
With Appreciation, Chris Cashman & Jean Ann McCarthy CPWC Co-Presidents 2020-2021

A Little Shout Out to Some Special Neighbors
From Nancy Mitchell (After the power outage)
Just wanted to give a huge shout out to our wonderful friends in the CPWC. We bumped into Caryn Sonderman who found out we still had no power ... and instantly offered a bedroom and shower until we had power restored. Is this not wond
erful or what? Our dear neighbor, Heather Peck, has also checked on us. We feel so blessed to live in this wonderful community. This is what the CPWC does BEST. Just sayin'
Feel the hugs, Nancy Mitchell |

Savvy Evening Group
|
Dec 15
|
The Savvy Women Evening Group meets the third Tuesday of each month. Due to coronavirus safety precautions, we will meet via Zoom call on Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 7:00 - 8:00.
Last year, Aurelie Barriel shared with us how the holidays are celebrated in her native France. This year we will be joined by our very own Gitte Claud and learn about her Danish holiday traditions. Gitte was born in Denmark and still returns frequently to visit family members. She has also connected with an extensive Danish community right here in Atlanta!
Needless to say, she actively embraces her heritage and has already begun some of the celebrations. Her only regret is that we can't meet in person. She had hoped to share some Scandinavian treats, including glogg, a very potent libation! Maybe she can share some recipes!
RSVP no later than Monday, Dec 14 to Pat Iaffaldano if you would like to participate.
Click here for a complete list of proposed programs for this year.
| Yoga | Ongoing Tuesdays and Thursdays |
Still teaching via Zoom. Will schedule yoga interest group in the park, weather permitting. Have a warm layer and/or a blanket for the end of class.
