CPATH - Our year in review
The end of the year is an exciting time to reflect on the past and contemplate the future. Here at CPATH we are in awe of the wonderful year we’ve had in 2017.
We started the year off with a favorite activity at
Dart Bowl
and it only got better from there. In March, cerebral palsy awareness month, we held a fundraiser at
BJ’s Restaurant
, had a booth at the Epic Health Fair, and held a respite day with our partners at the
SW YMCA
, where Dr. Wright provided an informative lecture on cerebral palsy to our CParents. A truly great month of highlighting cerebral palsy awareness in central Texas!
In May we held our second annual
Camp CPals
. We hosted 10 new families and 6 returning families on a weekend camp experience that was unforgettable. It was rewarding to see entire families have fun without the everyday worries and barriers that are associated with cerebral palsy.
In July we hosted a trip to Morgan’s Wonderland, a fully-accessible theme park in San Antonio. The kids smiled, laughed, and left with many happy summer memories. It was our largest group outing yet!
Through out the year we provided training on cerebral palsy on three different occasions to the community. We love teaching others about CP and offering suggestions for adaptive exercises, recreation, outings, and community inclusion.
We held our third annual
Light the Path
fundraiser in October which raised over $25,000! We were blown away by the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and attendees. We are delighted to give back to the families and individuals that we serve.
None of this could have been possible without the enthusiasm of our families, supporters, partners, and our amazing community. At the end of another growth-filled year, we look forward to finding how we can continue serving the community we love.
Happy New Year!!!
