Two residential development projects, Woodland Park and Heartwood, are finally underway in southeast Gainesville.
Gainesville Projects to Provide Housing Opportunities
The Woodland Park project began the first of three phases last week with a groundbreaking ceremony. The housing project will feature 96 new multi-family units with up to four bedrooms and a new community center.
Meanwhile, the final touches on infrastructure and site construction are being completed for the Heartwood housing project, which sits on the 15 acre former Kennedy Homes site. Buyers will be able to choose from 14 different home models ranging in price from $150,000-$260,000. Several lots will be developed by Gainesville's Housing and Community Development Department so eligible tenants can participate in the down payment assistance program.
