CRA ANNUAL REPORT DEADLINE APPROACHING
Reminder! CRA annual reports are due March 31, to its creating entity (the city or the county).

This local annual report in s.163.371, Florida Statutes, can be as simple as a letter with all the information included or as glamorous as a four-color brochure. Brevity and clarity is the goal, as this should be an easy to understand informational and educational piece.

We recently hosted a webinar that overviewed a spreadsheet tool to keep track of the new requirements for data from year to year. To access the webinar and its materials, click here.

For more information on reporting or for sample reports, visit  our annual reporting requirements page.
AUDITS FOR FLORIDA CRAS
The legislation passed in 2019 changed the way that CRA audits are conducted in Florida. During the 2019 Annual Conference, we presented a summary of these new requirements.

To view the presentation, click here.

Beginning with 2019-20 audits, auditors must find whether the CRA complied with the new law under s.163.387(7) and (8), Florida Statutes. These sections apply to expenditures, budgets, September 30 trust fund balance carryovers and audit procedures.

The Auditor General updated the rules on September 30, 2019, relative to the new requirements for Local Governments under Chapter 10.550. CRAs are now encouraged to expense for a separate stand alone audit next year of the CRA, although it is not required.
AWARD SPOTLIGHT:
RIVIERA BEACH CRA
Congratulations to the Riviera Beach CRA for receiving the 2019 Cultural Enhancement Award for the Art Infusion - New Murals for the CRA project.

The Art Infusion project created various murals to transform the City of Riviera Beach.

The murals provide long-lasting and encouraging effects on local businesses, visitors and residents and showcase a feeling of ownership and pride in the community.

Through public workshops under the direction of the Riviera Beach CRA, citizens of Riviera Beach connected the processes of art, education and restoration to transform the mundane into a stimulating realm of possibilities for everyone.
