CRC Code of Ethics
Available for Comment

Have You Provided Your Feedback?

Dear ,

CRCC has released a draft revised Code of Professional Ethics for Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (Code) for public comment. The Code is a living document revised periodically based on changes in the profession.

The CRCC Ethics Committee initiated the revision process with a review of issues identified by the Committee during complaint adjudication and review of requests for advisory opinions. This information was supplemented with a survey asking CRCs to describe ethical challenges faced in the recent past and projected ethically troubling issues to come in the future.

In early 2021, a twelve-member Code Revision Taskforce was formed. It includes subject matter experts, educators, practitioners, and applied ethicists from within the rehabilitation counseling profession. With this data, the Taskforce first met in July 2021 to begin their work. Numerous work sessions were held to review each section of the Code. The Taskforce met again in March 2022 for a final review of the initial draft, which was then presented to the Ethics Committee.

The revised draft Code is now available for your comment through June 30, 2022. Comments will only be accepted via electronic submission.
You can access the survey multiple times. Your feedback will be saved each time, although it will not be visible to you if you return to the survey to make additional comments at a later date, so be sure to note where you left off in your review.

CRCC looks forward to your feedback.
