Meet Vita Cane, one of the first small businesses to join our Welcome In program. Over the last few months, the owner and staff at this Alhambra juicery and acai bar have learned about California's civil rights laws, and other tools to help protect customers from discrimination.

"When people feel safe and included, it makes a real difference, not just for my business, but for the whole community. I’d love to see more businesses take this step!"

Allison Mayrena | Owner of Vita Cane Alhambra

We're grateful for Vita Cane's commitment to help build a safe space for the Los Angeles community! If you're a California small business that's interested in joining Welcome In, click below to learn more about the program.

CALIFORNIA FARMWORKER DAY

Protecting the Rights of Farmworkers

California Farmworker Day is August 26th, a time to honor farmworkers who sacrifice and contribute so much to our state. Every day, CRD is proud to help farmworkers learn more about their rights! This year we've been working with community groups to visit workers in the fields and to share resources and answer questions about their rights. California's civil rights laws protect farmworkers from discrimination, regardless of their immigration status. Check out our immigrant resource page or download our immigrant rights guide listed here to learn more.
