In 2025, the California Civil Rights Department (CRD) got a complaint from a Simi Valley employee who claimed the city did nothing after she reported sexual harassment and denied her disability accommodation request.

The Limited Examination and Appointment Program (LEAP) is designed to help Californians with disabilities get jobs with the state. Instead of taking the traditional state civil service exam, you can show your knowledge and skills for a position through on-the-job testing.
