THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Blue and orange squares with the numbers 2025 scattered across a collage of photos from various events throughout the year. In the center are the words "thank you."

As we reflect on 2025, we feel deep gratitude for the teamwork and partnerships that defined this year for CRD.

This year was met with uncertainty for many of the communities we serve, and marked an important chapter in our ongoing commitment to protect the rights of all Californians.

Our state's civil rights laws aren't going anywhere, and we're thankful for your support as we worked to empower Californians to exercise their rights.

Meeting You Where You Are

From the farmers market to back to school night, this year we committed to reaching Californians in all aspects of their daily lives. To the nearly 40,000 people we met, thank you for taking and sharing our resources with your community.

This work included a tour across the state to support farmworkers, including at their jobsites. Our tour ended with a celebration near the U.S. Mexico border, where we joined other state agencies and organizations to share resources with about 3,000 farmworkers!

Enforcing Your Rights

Staff from the California Civil Rights Department stand on the stage to accept an award for best workforce initiative.

Our team secured about $14 million and counting in relief for Californians facing discrimination. From taking on major retailers to protecting homeowners and families facing domestic violence, your civil rights complaints made a difference. These settlements helped lead to lasting change for all Califorians.

Our staff also supported the Civil Rights Council in securing approval for new AI regulations to protect California job seekers from discrimination.

Behind the scenes, our team also developed an award winning program to help streamline our investigations, allowing us to better serve you in the new year.

Building Community Partnerships

Staff share California Versus Hate resources to soccer fans at an Oakland Roots game.

We also feel gratitude for the communities who stepped up to help protect each other in 2025.

Nearly 30 small businesses from across the state joined our new pilot program Welcome In, where they're learning ways to protect their customers and staff from discrimination.

This summer we also teamed up with the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Roots to share support services for Californians impacted by hate.

Our mission remains the same in 2026: to protect and enforce the civil rights of all Californians. Thank you for trusting us to help create a fairer and more inclusive California for all!
