Civil Rights Department (CRD) Announces Opening of 2024 Pay Data Reporting Window

While California has some of the nation’s strongest equal pay laws and one of the lowest gender pay gaps in the country, the state’s pay data has continued to show in recent years that women and communities of color remain among the state’s lowest paid workers. The reporting portal is now open and the deadline for employers to submit their data to CRD is May 14, 2025.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH

A hand holds a megaphone with the words Black Joy is Louder Than Hate

Black History Month is a time to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Black community and recommit ourselves to the ongoing fight for equality. As we reflect on the challenging history of hate crimes and incidents that have impacted Black Americans, it is important we come together to help combat the racism and discrimination many still face today.

A recent LA County Hate Crime Report found that African Americans made up 49% of racial hate crime victims. California’s statewide report shared similar findings, where anti-Black hate crimes made up 50.9% of racial bias hate crimes in 2023.

We can all take action to combat racism and hate. We invite you to share our CA vs Hate resources to stand in solidarity with the Black community and help ensure Californians get support.
