EQUAL PAY DAY

Fighting for Fair Pay

On Equal Pay Day, CRD released new numbers that show ongoing pay gaps for women and workers of color among large private employers. While California has some of the nation’s strongest equal pay laws, the new data shows that women and people of color of all genders are more likely to be among the state’s lowest paid workers among large private sector employers.

According to the latest data, women are still more likely to be among the state's lowest paid workers and less likely to be among the highest paid workers.

But there are signs of progress. Compared to 2020 when we first started collecting the data, there are now more women in senior management roles in the state.

Yet, people in these roles are still less likely to be people of color. With just 1 in 20 Latino and 1 in 11 Black workers making $144,560 and over.

Click the link below for more information from our new pay data, including stats, settlements, and ways to combat pay discrimination. Together, we can help close the pay gap in California!
