EQUAL PAY DAY

As part of Equal Pay Day on March 12, we highlighted new numbers on California’s pay gap. While our state has some of the strongest equal pay laws nationwide, our data shows people aren’t being paid equally across industries — especially women of color. Read some of our new data below and click the link to read more on our new factsheet!

Women — working full and part time — make about 81 cents in California for every dollar men earn.

The pay gap is even greater for women of color, with Latinas earning less than half of what men are paid.

In the finance sector alone, women lose an estimated $10.3 billion in pay each year.
