Highlighting CBRE Cares Mid-Atlantic

CREBA Gold sponsor,  CBRE, is committed to fulfilling its role as a responsible corporate citizen by supporting and adding value to the communities in which its employees live and work around the world. CBRE Cares, the company's corporate giving and volunteerism organization, facilitates this effort by serving as an overarching platform to further a wide variety of charitable activities. CBRE Cares leverages the passion and talents of CBRE employees across the globe to create real benefit for individuals in need through community outreach and support, disaster-response initiatives and locally driven programs.
CBRE's Mid-Atlantic region participates in various charity and volunteer activities through the local CBRE Cares program, which is led by a committee of employees. Every summer, the local CBRE Cares committee organizes an annual Build Day open to all Mid-Atlantic employees to participate in. On June 21, CBRE partnered with Rebuilding Together and DC Department of Parks & Recreation to renovate the New York Avenue Recreation Center at 100 N Street NW. Volunteers from CBRE's Mid-Atlantic region offices in Baltimore, Bethesda, D.C. and Tysons Corner gathered at the site to clean, paint, build new flower beds, plant flowers, hang new blinds and prepare the center to welcome children, teens and the elderly to a newly updated space. CBRE has worked with Rebuilding Together in previous years, volunteering at the Spring Meadows community in Severn, Maryland in 2017 and at the Hume Springs and Lynhaven neighborhoods in Alexandria, Virginia in 2018. CBRE Cares volunteers worked together from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to get the center ready to welcome children for a summer camp in the new space.
In addition to the annual Build Day, CBRE Cares Mid-Atlantic participates in a monthly Birthday Cake donation program in which employees can deliver birthday cakes to children living in DC Metro area shelters. In June, July and August, CBRE Cares delivered  39 cakes to help local children celebrate their big day. CBRE Cares also partners with local charities that CBRE Mid-Atlantic employees are involved with to support fundraising initiatives and community events, such as walks, races, bike rides, golf tournaments, galas, and more.
