CREST & UNU Hub at CCNY-R-SIRUS Research Professor, Kaveh Madani named 2026 Stockholm Water Prize Laureate.




CREST and R-SIRUS join celebrations for 2026 World Water Day, reflecting on the theme of Water and Gender Equality, at the United Nations headquarters in New York. 



Shakila Merchant, CREST Deputy Director and HIRES Director, invited to join the NYS Adaptation Practitioners Network.




In a new opinion article published in Nature Water, Kaveh Madani and Karin Sjöstrand, Deputy Executive Director of Operations at R-SIRUS argue that water scientists must become agenda-setters in global policy discussions.




Naresh Devineni, CREST Faculty Affiliate, spoke at Safer and Healthier Outcomes Through Data panel at Building a Fairer Future for NYC, co-hosted by NYU and CUNY, highlighting how data-driven innovation can support safer and more equitable cities.




CREST and R-SIRUS join global talks on water security at the United Nations Water Policy Roundtable in New York, where a landmark report, Global Water Bankruptcy by Kaveh Madani warned that crisis management is no longer enough.




A week of learning and innovation at R-SIRUS and CREST brought together students and researchers for hands-on training in Digital Earth, AI, and sustainability.
