Congratulations to everyone and thank you for the many nominations that came our way. We are so fortunate that there are so many women and projects to celebrate in the Washington, DC real estate market.
Heads up, 35 and Under Members: The 35&U committee is planning a happy hour in August and an Ivy City Food and Drink Event in September. These events sell out quickly so keep an eye out for registration information. These events are a great way to make connections, build friendships, and stay involved in CREW DC.

CREW DC 2017 President, Phyllis Liebman Brill, gave opening remarks at the Bisnow State of the Market event on June 27th to encourage industry support to further advance the success of women in commercial real estate. Here are some highlights from her speech:

* Founded in 1979 to promote professional opportunities and business relationships for women in the commercial real estate industry, CREW DC remains one of the oldest and largest chapters with 540 members!

* There are more than 10,000 CREW Network members worldwide representing every discipline within the industry. This covers over 70 major markets across the US, Canada, and most recently, Great Britain.

* CREW DC is advancing careers by focusing on developing strong, meaningful connections with one another, which are built over time and are best achieved when you have something to work on together. Through committee participation and leadership opportunities, CREW DC members really get to know one another.

* CREW is more than a networking organization. CREW means business! CREW DC members partner with one another on business opportunities whenever they can. Some will be recognized at our annual Awards Gala on September 28th, where projects are judged, in part, for the number of CREW DC members involved.

* Business between members is also happening beyond the local level. Members have access to other members within the CREW Network that makes new business connections only an email away.

* CREW DC prides itself on women helping other women but the success of women in commercial real estate is also dependent on men. Women need access to the C-suite, a seat at the table, and to be considered for high profile opportunities. In her speech, Phyllis recognized that there are many men in our industry who have championed our CREW women. She thanked them and said "we hope to see more."
She challenged everyone in the room, men and women, no matter what level in their career to join CREW in our mission to help advance the Success of Women in Commercial Real Estate; to help recognize and applaud the great efforts that are being made by these women; and to include these women at the table. She ended her remarks by thanking the many companies represented at the event who have generously supported our Chapter.  CREW DC's 2017 Sponsors

We are pleased to announce that CREW Network updated their website. Please visit to get acquainted with the revamped site and what CREW Network has to offer. You can review blogs and post feedback on the site if interested.

On the updated CREW Network website, Wendy Mann, CEO of CREW Network, blogged about her recent "Breakfast with a Rock Star" event on Tuesday, July 11th. This sold-out CREW DC event was a great success and we are thrilled to see her thoughts about the event on the new site. She shared the following key points at the event and on her blog:
* Be willing to think differently, explore opportunities and innovate.

* Be self-aware: understand who you are and what you might need to change to be more successful.

* Empower your team, thank your team and appreciate all they contribute to the organization's success.

* Build a network that works for you.

* Don't be afraid to say that you are wrong.
Please  visit her blog for more information.
Please do your best to register as soon as you are able before we open it up to non-members at an increased rate. Once an event is sold out, we can place you on a waitlist but there will be no guarantee that you will be able to attend due to maximum seating restrictions.
