2019 Board of Directors 

We invite CREW DC members to nominate someone you know with strong leadership skills, or submit your name for  consideration to become a member of the CREW DC Board of Directors to serve a two-year term during the 2019-2020 calendar years.
Nominations are now being accepted for the open Board positions listed below. Nominations will close on April 23, 2018.

Nominations are being sought for the following Board positions:

          President-Elect (will serve as 20 20 President and 202 Past President)
          Director , Special Events
          Director , Programs/EDU
          Director , Sponsorship/Community Action
          Director , Treasurer
Members of the 201 8 Board of Directors continuing to serve on the 2019 Board will be:
Lynn Bennet  (as 2019 President);  Barb Mackin  (as Past President/CREW Network Delegate);  Angela Poliskey  (as Director of Membership);  Lori Steenhoek  (as Director of Member Services);  Katie  Garrett (as Director of Communications);  Kate Howarth  (as Director of Professional Development); and  Tabitha Brittain  (as Director of  Network Liaison).

  • Only current, fully-paid members of CREW DC may submit nominations. Members who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors are strongly encouraged to nominate themselves. Members may make as many nominations as they wish to be considered for positions on the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee will review the nominations with the individuals nominated and will confirm that they are interested, review the qualifications of each nominee and prepare a slate containing one name for each position to be elected.
  • Members who have participated on CREW DC committees, task forces and special events are encouraged to serve on the Board, but prior committee leadership is not required in order to be nominated. Members of the Nominating Committee are not eligible for nomination.
  • An individual may be nominated for more than one position. In addition, it is possible that a current Board member may be nominated for President Elect or another position, which would open up a Board seat that is not currently open.
  • Members making nominations do not have to verify the willingness of the individual to serve; that will be done by the Board Selection Committee. After confirming the willingness of the individual to serve, the Board Selection Committee will request information from the nominees regarding their qualifications and experience. The Board Selection Committee will select a slate for the 2019 CREW DC Board (one individual for each open position).
  • The election will be held at the September 2018 program/annual meeting if required. The slate of nominees will be distributed during July for voting by proxy in advance of the September 2018 meeting. A simple majority of the CREW DC membership is required to approve the slate.
  • To assist you in making nominations, the list of Board responsibilities has been posted to the CREW DC website in our Path to Leadership section. Other applicable forms are included below.

Once the nomination submission deadline has passed, all nominees will be contacted to confirm their interest and asked to complete the following documents which will be due on June 1, 2018:

Please review our  Strategic Plan before completing the questionnaire as there are questions that reference it.                                     


The deadline to submit a nomination for consideration is April 23, 2018. Submissions received after that date will not be considered. All nominations should be submitted to admin@crewdc.org with the subject line "CREW DC Board Nomination."
