Past Presidents Scholarship Program Has Launched
CREW New York’s Past President Scholarship opened its application period on November 15, 2018 for up to $10,000 to be awarded to eligible graduate students to assist them in meeting the expenses of their 2019/2020 academic year.
The Scholarship Sub-committee, led by Foundation Committee Chair Katherine DeMercurio, is making the scholarship available by direct application to the following institutions: NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate, Baruch Zicklin School of Business, Columbia’s Keller School of Management/Real Estate program and Fordham University’s Real Estate Institute.
The application deadline is February 1, 2019. A personal interview is one of the eligibility requirements. The scholarship will be awarded in March 2019 with an announcement made at the April 2019 CREWNY Luncheon.
For the past year, the Scholarship sub-committee has reviewed best practices from a variety of scholarship programs, from within CREW and from other sources. The successful efforts of CREW Foundation on a national level, CREW Philadelphia at the chapter level, and the Merle Gross-Ginsberg scholarship from CREW New York were the models for both the application process as well as the award criteria.

The Sub-Committee has high hopes for a successful inaugural year and recommends you inform your network about the new Past Presidents Scholarship and encourage eligible graduate students to apply.
Two videos are now available for viewing on the CREWNY website. Look for the 40th Anniversary Gala in the "About" drop down menu.

The first video, "Celebrating Yesterday: A Look Back" features Merle Gross-Ginsberg, founder and first president of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), one of CREWNY's predecessor organizations.

The second video, "Shaping Tomorrow: A Look Ahead", focuses on CREWNY's achievements in and dedication to business networking, professional development, scholarships and philanthropy.

Daria Salusbury is Featured Speaker at
Financial Times’ Property Summit in London
Daria Salusbury (CEO of Manhattan-based Salusbury and Co.) was the focus of the Financial Times’ Property Summit this past 7 November in London. Speaking on the subject of increasing diversity and inclusion in the real estate sector globally, Salusbury emphasized the importance of women and minority-owned businesses. As uncertain market conditions present headwinds for growth, Salusbury argued that “diversity in opinion is not just a strength, but a requirement” for firms looking to acquire and develop in alpha world cities over the next few years.
