CREWNY Impact Awards
CREWNY’s 2020 IMPACT Awards nominations are closed! We received nine nominations from our membership in the Career Advancement for Women, Entrepreneurial Spirit and Member-to-Member Business categories.

An announcement of the Impact Award winner is anticipated for the fall.

The  Urban Design Forum 's Forefront Fellowship
The  Urban Design Forum' s Forefront Fellowship is an annual professional fellowship dedicated to cultivating emerging leaders in urban design, development and policy. In 2020, Forefront Fellowship Cooperative Works , will explore New York City's future, focusing on the economic recovery from the pandemic.
 
In the first phase, in partnership with the Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives and the Mayor's Office of M/WBE, Fellows will investigate inclusive workforce and business development strategies for the emerging building energy retrofit market. In the second phase, Fellows will explore how to support minority-owned businesses and workers of color, expand worker cooperatives, and democratize economic resources to build a more inclusive economy. 

Through this 10-month, part-time professional development opportunity, Fellows build new skills and knowledge, expand their professional community, and develop meaningful projects with impact beyond the fellowship.
 
The application for Cooperative Works is available  here . The application deadline is July 22.

CREW New York is pleased to announce that, once again, we will award four scholarships [Two (2) Board Members & Two (2) Members] for registration to the CREW Network Convention (Virtual Event), held September 15-17, 2020.

The deadline for the application is Friday, July 24, at 5:00 PM.

Betty Castro , CREWNY President-Elect and Managing Principal at Cushman & Wakefield, participated as a panelist in CREW Orlando's " CRE Around the Globe Post-COVID" event on July 15, where she shared information on Cushman & Wakefields 'How to Guide' for safely returning to the office.

CREWNY Member Nominated for Women in Asset Management Summit & Awards Series
Carrie Pianin has been nominated for the Women in Asset Management Summit & Awards Series in the category of Real Estate.

This award is given to women who have actively sought to promote gender diversity within the sector and provided evidence of workplace success either in the form of investment returns and/or original pieces of research/analysis. 

Pianin was also a featured speaker in the June 10th AmTrust Title Webinar Series: " Market Outlook: Women Executives in Real Estate "

Congrats to Christine Chipurnoi, SVP at USI Insurance Service and CREW Network Director, on being named one of IBA’s “Elite Women” for 2020!

CREWNY Member Facilitates CREW Miami Sponsor Spotlight Event
Barbara E. Champoux was the facilitator of the June 10, 2020, of a CREW Miami Sponsor Spotlight event developed by Amit Egan Datwani and focused on the community investment and humanitarian efforts of four Miami Sponsors supporting those impacted by COVID-19. Participating CREW Miami members included its President, Alicia Morales-Fernandez ; Director, Carol Ellis-Cutler ; and Programs Chair, Cristina Zampiero ; and representing the four sponsors were CREW Miami Sponsors, Keren Marti (First American TItle Insurance Company); Patrick G. Morris (Wells Fargo); Gina DelChiaro (Akerman LLP) & Joy McKenna (Research Management Corporation).
Newmark Adds CREWNY Member to Growing Team
Newmark Associates has expanded its team with the addition of Mary Therese O'Brian, a veteran sales and marketing executive.

O'Brian, who joins the Cedar Knolls-based firm as a sales associate, brings more than 20 years of experience. Her background includes working as a director of sales with ALM Media, LexisNexis and Thomson Reuters, where she created content marketing strategies for legal and other professional service organizations, utilizing emerging technology to generate leads, acquire customers and build their brands.
