With August upon us, we have school, after-school activities, and fall sports on our minds, but don't forget about this hidden gem you call your second home. According to my weather app, we have three solid months of golf left. If you look at the club calendar, there is plenty to keep you busy here with the Club Fundraiser Outing, Club Championship, Glow Ball Outings, and ladies' and men's days that run through September and October.
Besides the golf here at the club, we are planning to do some social programming, so look out for Gopher (Badger)/Vikings (Packers) afternoons in Tavern '38 (sorry, I had to add my teams in there), along with utilizing the Tavern for other dining/social events.
We've had a fun year so far, we've enjoyed tremendous member support of the Tavern and the new menu, and we are looking forward to keeping the momentum going strong into the new year.
See you down the middle,

PAR for the course:
A great way to shave strokes off your score quickly is to chip and putt effectively. To do that, you need to practice. A fun way to practice is on-course practice, and this is what I plan on doing with my ladies' clinic next Tuesday, called "PAR & PILSNER."
I'm taking the ladies on the golf course and have them start a hole from ten yards off the green for nine holes. The goal is to make par on every hole for nine holes. Then, once they can shoot par from that distance, we move back twenty yards and so on.
Play drops off a bit during the fall months, so it allows you to go out and do these types of things on course, whereas during the summer, it's too busy. So give it a try; I think you'll be surprised at how much better you score.
