Sports Nutrition Working Group meeting to examine adulteration ahead of Olympics—tune in NEXT TUESDAY, June 1
As athletes gear up for the 2021 Summer Olympics, heightened attention is being given to the products they use for performance support, including dietary supplements, as well as issues of adulteration surrounding these products.
CRN's Sports Nutrition Working Group (SNWG) will host itsfirst of two Olympics-themed webinars NEXT TUESDAY, June 1 at 2:30 pm ET. Guest speaker Amy Eichner, Ph.D., special advisor on drugs and supplements for the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), will share insights on recent trends in adulteration of sports nutrition supplements. IADSA—the International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations—is rolling out a new story in its "Mind the Gap" series, this time promoting the role of vitamin D in reducing the risk of falling among older adults. Officially launching on June 1, the new story builds on IADSA's "Bridging the Vitamin D Gap" resource, detailing how vitamin D supports muscle function, strength, and body balance to prevent dangerous falls.
